There's a rumor wafting about that Luxury Canadian retailer Holt Renfrew will start selling the iPhone in a few weeks.

The Holt Renfrew source says the 8GB phone will be a GSM phone, retailing across the country for $799. Anyone familiar with the GSM market in Canada knows that Rogers is the leading GSM provider in the country.

The supposed retail price is $799, which makes perfect sense given the strength of the Canadian dollar vs. the U.S. dollar. Rogers is still the only likely GSM carrier for the Canuck iPhone, but they're staying mum. Apple is staying mum too. But if the iPhone happens to show up in 2 weeks in Canada, don't say we didn't warn you. There are other conflicting rumors that say it won't be available until January, so if two weeks float by and still no iPhone, well don't say we didn't warn you about that too. [via]
