I’d love to see RIM drop BBOS for Android… I don’t know if Symbian will ever go away.

As Mike/Overthrow has said on our TreoCast, though, is that Motorola seems to be enamoured of signing on and following nearly every freaking OS out there. They just signed on to Symbian again, for pete’s sake. I agree they should seriously consider either dropping juix or just porting it over to android…

…hm.. man, imagine what would happen if one of the big three – MS, Symbian, or RIM, announced they were getting on board and porting to android. We KNOW it won’t happen with MS, but Nokia/symbian/allthem and rim are intriguing…

That’s the same line of thought I just brought up in the Android thread… They’re a member of the alliance and supporting two Linux OSes seems a bit like overkill so one could only assume…

We just might – Nokia is making a bigger push than they have before with the n95. We’re still mainly a US (and now Canada)-focused group, though, and Symbian really hasn’t made a big splash here yet. Still, we have an n95 in the office here and I suspect I’ll be giving it a go-round after the round robin is done. A bonus round, maybe.

I wonder if Moto is going to drop Juix in favor of Android.

I think you made the right choice, especially if DUN is important to you. Even if the iPhone does get some sort of DUN app next year, it will still be Edge only.

Anyway, your 755p/iPod Touch combo sounds pretty good! I hope you get to do that and enjoy that combination! As much as I love the iPhone for all its great features, I could get the iPod Touch and have everything but the phone. I’m still thinking though….

I’m currently happy with the 755P, and will likely get another year or 18 months out of it. Also, I am very intrigued by the iPhone.

I’ve made a decision to purchase a companion device to my Treo. It will be the iTouch- wifi capability, ability to port movies to larger screen etc. without the weak Edge network and issues of the iPhone. And just an aside, I tried the Sandisk Connect briefly and had to return it…just awful connecting to wifi. So, I have hopes for the 755p/iTouch combo.

Frankly, I feel the 755p is still the best phone choice for me if I had to choose a stand alone device. Just one example is in needing to get online in many hotels with PdaNet. Once again, its the third party aps. Really. My notebook is consistently connected and blazing along faster than with most hotel’s bandwidth reduced wifi networks. The points other Treo owners have made on here about EVDO devices not needing wifi are valid in my experience. But could Treo improve by offering a large screen and porting options? We all have our needs, and the answer for me is yes.

I foresee looking for a replacement smart-phone/media-device about the time Palm, if its’ latest delay update is accurate, releases L-POST (Linux-Palm OS II). So- if they hang on, and are able to compete with everyone else’s latest 2009 offerings, they may just keep my business. For now, I am truly excited to try out the iTouch. I love Palm, but an objective decision on the phone best for my needs does not mean the one we own is the device we should subjectively look at next time. This is, after all, the point of the Round Robin.

Sorry but all the phones reviewed are no longer being viewed as “Poweruser” devices imo, these phones are already (some may say fastly becoming) the norm, would you prefer we reduced them down to a RAZR 2 or something I’d love to see that reviews for that MOTOMAGX/JUIX OS.

There are just so many WM phones to choose from.. we decided to go with the current GSM “powerhouse”, even though it isn’t exactly the one with the best ease of ues (no one-handed like a Treo)

I just think that they should be using more end-user consumer type phones instead of a poweruser phone. But meh, that’s just me.

Amen, I’d like to hear about the “other” devices too. They get so little play. (I’m a Q user).
