All I can say is if Verizon doesnt get the iPhone within a year I'm switching over to AT&T. First off, the price of verizons ENV3 is the same price as AT&Ts iPhone, so why not go with the better phone? AND the better price??

I'm having a bit of a difficult situation right here. I would love to get myself a new phone and can't decide on which phone to pick. First of all, i thought of the Samsung B3310, which my friend has. It appears quite tough, and it all seemed alright, but i began researching other phones. Now my biggest problem is to decide between the Nokia E71 and the Samsung i8910 Omnia HD 8GB. Any suggestions?

Been with Verizon over two years now and wife really keeps bugging me for IPhone but that means moving over to at&t and they SUCK!!! IPhone on Verizon network would be a VERY smart move(no brainer) so whats the hold up? Given I have Verizon for personal phone, and had to take an i-phone for work, I can honestly say that I like the i-phone much better for email, and I've found some the apps very helpful. However, in terms of coverage and use of the internet, the ATT network is woefully behind. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands, use of the i-phone for internet access is a marketing thing ATT does that actually doesn't work. My access always times out - very rarely do I actually get to access the internet, and then its painfully slow.

Compared to the Blackberry, I've found the i-phone much more versatile and easier to use. And when I ran into trouble with the Blackberry, Verizon charges a fee for technical support. So I sent the Blackberry back and have a much more simple phone which has much better coverage geographically than ATT (when I'm traveling across country with both phones on, Verizon has signal much more, or stronger, than ATT)(that's not bias, its actual observation). When I'm on call from the hospital, people generally reach me on my Verizon phone rather than my "official" ATT i-phone.

So what would be great is if Verizon had the i-phone. Then we'd get the coverage and reliability of Verizon with the features available on the i-phone (I use the weather, WebMD, Cyclometer, calendar, and its camera is great - can download pix v having to email from a blackberry).

i believe it was a bit rushed, and neglected some features that not many people speak about. Everyone is aware of that the majority new smartphones have internet, so why present that primary function at its bear minimum. Scroll up scroll down zoom in zoom out. Actually? which new phone doesnt try this? How bout discuss how the text rearranges itsself. Also the texting, very poor review. Why didnt you point out you can use the mic and textual content along with your voice? Ignored ALOT of other extra necessary features

I had Verizon for 6 years. Was very happy with their service then the iPhone came out so I switched to AT&T. The iPhone is awesome but AT&T SUCKS!!!! I didn't know what I was missing until I switched from Verizon. Verizon has far superior reception. With AT&T I drop about 10 calls per day or I cant make a call with full reception bars. Call Canceled. Sound Familiar? Over all AT&T's reception is garbage compared to what I experienced with Verizon. With Verizon I never this happened. I would switch back in an instant if I thought I could get the Verizon service for my iPhone.

I'm a Verizon Customer at the moment and I've had both AT&T and Verizon and I can truly say Verizon has way better coverage AT&T does. I get signal in the mall's bathroom something AT&T wouldn't do that's to start off. And I've had the iPhone and the Motorola Droid and nothing beats the iPhone. Don't get me wrong I love my Droid and I love the GPS and the keyboard but the Applications suck. I've been having my hopes up since the day I got Verizon to get an iPhone it would be the best thing that's ever happened. If right now Apple is getting tons of money because they have it connected to AT&T all that is going to double up if they have an iPhone on Verizon because you'll have an awesome phone and the best network what else can you ask for? But what really pisses me off is that cellular companies are so stupid, Verizon had the chance to get an iPhone and get more customers and they refused it. It's all confusing and stupid but with all that in mind, I want to say PLEASE BRING THE iPHONE TO VERIZON IT'S ALL I WANT!!!!!

I am currently an ast. Manager at a Verizon store in Phoenix and I hate to point it out but posting 427 is right. The iPhone will never be with Verizon. Our upper managemet has told us to respond with "that what our customers our saying but I havent heard anything from the company" in other words they want the speculation of it being true but its all a cover up. Being an ex-apple manager for 5 years it all comes to pride and loyalty with Steve Jobs. If only Veruizon had not declined the initail offer for the iPhone than we wouldnt need the need to have this blog.

Look people just accept the fact that Steve and ATT have already a relationship establish and converting the iphone to CDMA would be to cost effective. Besides CDMA thats so 90's. I have had Verizon for all of my cell phone using life. (about 3 years) and never had a phone of mine worked properly. My family is on Verizon and wouldn't switch over just so I could get the iphone, but if Verizon gets the iphone, I will not hesitate in getting it to replace all the other pieces of junk I have been using. Also I needed a new ipod anyway so why not have it all in one? PLEASE HURRY with getting the iphone in stores, Verizon! I know many other people like myself who would get it right away!

I have a treo 755p and am a happy Verizon customer. However, and this is a MUST: assuming the iPhone would function freely and at least as well as I see it does with AT&T, without features and apps being hampered by some proprietary Verizon scheme, I would very likely move to an iPhone. The "apps buzz" is really appealing I must say. Again, I would NOT switch to an iPhone if its appeal was dampered by functionality compromises. I'm sticking with Verizon in any case.

My predictions if verizon offers iphone.

Everyone who left verizon for AT&T iphone will return to iphone in 2 years or sooner.

AT&T in desperate attempt to compete with verizon will reduce monthly service fees.. they will fail..(most people will pay a little more for better service)

btw. AT&T has the best phone(iphone)and their service fee is cheaper than verizon.. and they claim to have good service.. then why is it that verizon has more customers than any other service provider.. humm.. I think thats because we consumers aren't stupid.. we recognize bad 'service( dropped calls) when we experience it..

Although I would really LOVE to have the iPhone, I REFUSE to switch to AT&T. I've been with Verizon for about 12 years, and I get coverage EVERYWHERE! 95% of my friends and family have Verizon, and all love it. The other 5% have AT&T and the iPhone. Guess what, they hate it (the service). Shocker. All I hear from them about AT&T is dropped calls, dropped calls, dropped calls. I mean, I don't even know what a dropped call is 'cause I don't think I've ever had one with Verizon.

Would I buy the iPhone if it went to Verizon? YES! Do I think it will happen? Only if Apple uses their common sence and makes a deal with them. I mean, think about it. More people use Verizon than AT&T--proven fact. If Apple was smart, they wouldn't renew their contract with AT&T and go to Verizon to get DOUBLE the sales on the iPhone then they ever would have with AT&T.

I am a fan of Apple, don't get me wrong, but somethimes I just want to smack some sence into the buisness workers.

I'm going to keep my hopes up for the iPhone and Verizon, but until this big switch happens, I'm sticking to my LG Dare and soon to be Blackberry Curve.

Ok so I decided I would check with my local verizon since I am up for an upgrade to see if verizon will be getting the iphone (which I want). The rep told me she has heard that from the customers but not from the company itself. When she asked if I looked at some of the new phones I asked for a link to see what was coming to verizon she said do a search on palm. So without confirming it she was saying the palm pre is coming to verizon. I did a search and it seems that the palm pre is coming this month to verizon. Still holding on for the Iphone which is rumored for a 3Q 2010 release with verizon. Even though I really want the Iphone I will NOT go back to AT&T.

I migrated to AT&T when the iPhone first came out while keeping my Verizon acct. open. The toughest choice for me is the love for the iPhone (even the new Droid does not match it) and my hatred for the horrible service of AT&T.

The problem is that I am concerned that a Verizon iPhone would be a rip off as Verizon is the king of all of these silly add ons that require an additional fee.

Verizon should soon realize that they will gain a flock of new customers and have old ones return if they can off the iPhone with similar rates to current AT&T plans.

Unfortunately, I don't see this happening. There has yet to be an "iPhone Killer" to hit the market and with te recent upgrades to the 3g and further enhancements, I don't think there ever will be.

Note to Verizon: You messed up by not grabbing this phone when u had the chance. Don't screw it up again.

I love, love, love my iphone, but I hate, hate, hate AT&T's lousy service. I gave up my Verizon service where I never ever had a dropped call for AT&T where, even though the map says I have service, I have to walk down the street and find service, never in the same place. And even when my phone says I have service (ie, the bars are good), my calls are repeatedly dropped. Bummer

What about the Droid on Verizon? they are coming out with it this month and some say it'll be even better than the iPhone. Would like to see that as at&t network here is horrible, tho I love the iPhone.

@iRonman: agreed....had the first version of the Storm when they offered the BOGO on them...took em back in a week. Went back to my BB8330. Liked the storm's visual VM and decent web; but that 'surepress' thing just simply sucks! AND it's the slowest thing ever--not like a BB needed a new way to lock up and need to have the should-be-patented battery pull...

Now, about the iPhone. I've had both ATT and Verizon and Tmobil at my house at the same time without issues. We are in Central Indiana. I have had Sprint and can see their tower from my window--but can't get a signal. Verizon and I have a love/hate relationship (marriage??). I really want an iPhone for the usability; but I'm not sure about the coverage. Here in my place of work, the ATT phones get signals--Verizon and others do not. Guess there's always a downside to everything.

I too have verizon and am very happy with the service. I work with a bunch of guys that are on at&t and they drop calls all the time and my service works all the time. I would love to buy the i-phone but only if it is through verizon. Verizon needs to face facts and listen to their customers and do what it takes to get the i-phone for the many loyal customers they have.

The iphone made me change service providers from Verizon to Att&t but as much as I like the Iphone after my two year contract i will go back to Verizon. Verizon has great coverage where with Att&t I can't make phone calls from certain places. I need reliability and Verizon can provide that. I know im downgrading but whats the point of having a cell phone if I can't make phone calls. I could always use my iphone as an ipod and for games only. Goodbye Att&T, I'm coming back Home Verizon.

I'd leap at the chance to get an iphone from Verizon! I was a Verizon customer (love their reliable coverage) and switched to AT&T to get the iphone. 6 mos later, it's been a nightmare as I often cannot send/receive calls or text right in the middle of town. AT&T just scratches its head and says, "Hm, we don't see any network issues in your area--you should be getting good service." I'm seriously considering cancelling my contract with AT&T and selling my iphone. I'd rather use a second rate smart phone that actually WORKS than own a snazzy device that's impotent due to AT&T's crappy network.

I am with varizon wirelss right now and have a unlocked i phone and it works perfectly. all you have to do is get a sim card most of verizon phones do not have sim cards as it is a CDMA network but s9ome phones the verizon has to offer come with sim cards and get your hands on one of them you can get an unlocked i-phone email me for more details. alloriginalphones@yahoo.com

My thought is that Apple is going to wait so when these AT&T sales numbers drop off, they can open up to Verizon customers and be able to make those really cool growth graphs at their next PR show. Apple is big on posting "record" growth and adoption numbers. If they let everybody adopt right away, they'd have nowhere to go.

I no longer call or text my iPhone friends. Only emails. That way they actually get info.

I'm pissed at both AT&T and Apple for this exclusionary mess. I'll forgive Apple, but the other company can bite me.

glad i could read everyones comments on how bad AT&Ts coverage is. Verizon works anywhere i've ever gone except for very remote places like in the middle of the Catskills and some places in Canada and out in the western US in the desert.

i would love an iphone but will not be leaving verizon after reading many of these comments.

Wake up Verizon. Everyone wants the IPhone your phone selections do not do what we want to do anywhere near as well as the IPhone. I have tried all of the BB phones and now have the storm. I'm frustrated with the phone on a daily basis. I was excited when I heard you might wake up and sign the deal and now I hear this. Come on.

I am waiting on the iPhone to hit VZW, but the news is that AT&T resigned their contract. I so want the iPhone but I refuse to switch. I used to manage VZW then moved to sprint due to management differences, but all awhile I kept my VZW. The best network ever.

I am with the rest of my family are with Verizon. We are eligible for upgrade but we are waiting for the Iphone to come to verizon before upgrading our phones. Verizon does not have any smart phone that can be compared to iphone. Verizon keeps improving its phones keep changing them but they will never match the iphone! We may switch to AT&T next year in order to have the iphone.

I've been with verizon since 2004, the service is great, i've had no problems but i like the iPhone. I have lots of friends and ex co-workers who has them, but they don't like AT&T service and neither did i when i had their service.

Anyway most people say AT&T stinks so I really want the iPhone to come out soon. I agree with what she says about verizon being better that at&t but at least get your years straight. Were there even Verizon land lines in 1987?

I had an iphone from at&t for two years. there service was extremely terrible. now i am with verizon i have the blackberry storm! What a friggin misteak. I love my new service however, this is the worst phone i have ever used. i am starting to think maybe if i slap it a little when is start to use it, maybe it will wake up and move a little faster. well, wrong again this is also the slowest smart phone that has ever been made i believe. i want to get an unlocked jailbroken iphone but i dont know if it will work with verizon. some people just say at&t and t-mobile will work. so wassup will it work or not?

every day i keep praying and praying for iPhone to leave AT&T. my cell phone number originated from Cingular which then became AT&T. like Evonne i left Cingular because of the incredibly crappy service and switched to Verizon because of the great reliability. i've been extremely happy with Verizon, i get a 15% discount from work but want more out of my phone. next year my contract is up, i want a new iPod (prefer a iPod touch) and thought why not get two devices in one instead of dropping a few hundred for both. however, my only hesitation about getting an iPhone is that i'd have to switch back to, now, AT&T. my best friend got an iPhone last year and i've used it a few times loving every minute of it. now with the uncertain future of whether the iPhone will be offered to other carriers i'm wondering if i should wait. the only benefit of waiting is MAYBE i'll see a Verizon iPhone, save a few bucks, but also could tragically find out AT&T will be the exclusive carrier for another two years. i honestly cannot understand why Apple would want to tarnish it's name by having a great device tied to a crappy provider. plus, making it's customers they have to compromise to use the iPhone. just give us what we want, you're stock can only go up! right?!

Verizon's customer service is awesome, especially after having experienced the unfriendly, unhelpful, and unknolwedgable service of AT&T. Predictaby, after I canceled my AT&T home phone, home fax, and cell phone because of the nasty service, I got a very friendly call wanting to know what they could do to get me back!!! I really want an iphone, but not enough to go back to AT&T. Verizon: let's work on it!

I have Verizon right now (moto Q). I have had an iPhone 32 GS now for about a week. That's right, I have two phones active -- why? Well, the idea was to buy the iPhone, and my two year Verizon contract would be cancellable two days after the purchase of the iPhone -- why didn't I cancel? Because I get zero signal at home with my iPhone -- when it works, it is a dream phone. But right now it is just an ipod touch but I pay $30 for family text, $30 per iPhone (we have 4) for data, and $250/mo for shared minutes. I'm in SW Virginia -- we can't even dream of 3G, I'm asking for a basic phone signal from ATT -- I called them, and unlike others, they are not telling me that the signal is supposed to be good, they ADMIT that there is only one tower in the whole surrounding area and it is over 3 miles away.

Verizon signal has been perfect for many years. So, the ATT sales guy above (post #338) -- what do you suggest? Do you suggest I pay $400 plus to ATT for the times we travel to the city just to use the phone?? What is up with their service area? I've really studied their coverage map and I would say fully 50% of the U.S. probably is not covered by ATT. I love my iPhone, but not that much.
