There Was iPhone News! New Macbook's "Just Work" With iPhone Headsets!
Ha! No iPhone news indeed! We knew Steve Jobs wouldn't abandon us completely, not his baby, not his "third-leg" love child! Jason Snell, putting the new MacBooks under the microscope for Macworld, discovers (via Daring Fireball):
Yes, it’s true — these new MacBooks work with your iPhone headphones. If you click the button on your iPhone headphones, iTunes pauses. Click again, and the music resumes. A double-click advances one track, and a triple-click moves back a track—just like on the iPhone. What’s more, the headphones’ built-in microphone appears as the input device “Microphone port” in the Sound preference pane.
How awesome -- and completely Apple-like is that?
(But is it enough to make you order a new MacBook?)

WOW. So the cheesey headphones work with the over priced computers.....imagine that. I'm truely surprised. I thought for sure you would need some type of over priced adapter to do that. Of course, being able TO BLUETOOTH WITH THE DAMN PHONE would be a better option, but we can't have that, now can we?? Big whoop. Same crap, different bag. AS USUAL. AND as usual, TiPb thinks this is "news" and exciting. How about holding Apple accountable once and a while?? Maybe if you would stop "drooling" over every LITTLE THING they do, and report honestly about what a joke this phone is, we can get something done. All this looking the other way about this phone's short comings is getting just a little old.
biggest yamn evar. Good lord. The fact that consumers have to pay $500+ more for a fashionable computer over a similar powered pc is already ridicules. Guess how these new macbooks now work with the crappy iPhone headphones (how much dies apple charge for those?) makes up for the price premium.
I'll save my hard earned $ on a pc laptop and get another Eee PC with the $ I just saved.

No one whose owned an iPhone 4 (or 3GS - but now it's a done deal...race over - Microsoft runs on Mac...but OS Micro-Whatever (XP STILL THE ONE IF STABILITY BE REQUIRED - and....do u think artists/musicians use Macs cause they are "fancy"? $500 is nothing - as Steve Jobs said - "It just WORKS" -( no DLL FILES, no errors or closing windows - no pun intended - EVERYTIME YOU USE MICROSOFT....
