I wish there were more ways to sort apps. Sure by category is nice but I wish I could do view all free apps or view all apps in a certain price range by category or sort by top rated or top downloaded by category or most popular(some type or combo between rating and downloads) but unfortunately all I can do is see a list of a ton of apps and scroll down unless I know the name I won't find anything. Also I wouldn't pat 10 for a calculator program. The included basic one sucks but I wouldn't pay more than 99 cents for a better one. There are a ton of apps on the store that charge when the same function is there in a differant free app

Wow, excellent answers (and the questions weren't half bad ;) ) -- it's really clear that Apple needs to get some short-term fixes like sorting by rating up asap. I'd also love to see some of the longer-term fixes suggested here. If I were Apple, I'd give serious consideration to licensing something from Amazon -- "Was this review helpful" ratings on reviews would be great.

great write up i think the main thing about making money in the app store is coverage. some really great apps are just not given any attention. i havent seen anyone review a.i disk http://theappleblog.com/2008/10/24/ai-disk-brings-mobileme-idisk-to-the-iphone/
but it is a really amazing app if you could review it that would be great :)
