Why would they go with linux? If they went with linux then it would not be Apple product running this show! I have always been an Apple / Windows skeptic... Yes i do use Linux, is perfect? Far from it, but its "Free". I recentely purchased the iPhone and this is an outsanding system. Apple really outdone themselfs with this, only your imagination is the limit, forget all other touchscreen imitators... They'r Pathetic!!!!
Running linux on the iPhone it would be a nice thing to show the freedom of the OS but, you won't see me wasting my time on it!

I guess from a user perspective there wouldn't be much difference. Glad they went with OSX though - I can't stand the Linux crowd.

I have a hard time believing that. There is no way Apple would launch a phone with linux as it's dna. Obviously we got OS X with the iPhone, and it's showing to be a great decision. Running Linux on the iPhone is like running Windows in Macbooks (as it's primary OS), as Windows Media running on the Apple TV, as Zune software running the iPods. I call BS on this!
