Apple Calling Emailing All Developers
Following hot on the heels of last Tuesday's monster iPhone OS 3.0 announcement, Apple wants developers to know that there's never been a better time to develop for the iPhone:
With a rich set of over 1,000 new APIs, iPhone SDK for iPhone OS 3.0 beta provides you with an amazing range of technologies to enhance the functionality of your iPhone and iPod touch applications. New APIs also provide support for applications to communicate with hardware accessories attached to iPhone or iPod touch.
Any devs previously sitting on the fence finally decide 3.0 is finally enough to push you over?

Then Apple had better hire more people to work on the backlog of iPhone Dev Program applications. My employer has been waiting over a month to get approved.
This is huge, the iphone will really own the mobile community. Like JKT said, they need to perfect the process, but other than that they have it.
I agree, we have been waiting for 3 weeks (going on 4th week). I am curious what they even ask....
That's strange, I applied and was approved in less than twenty four hours.
Maybe on March 24? Or on May?
@ carlos What...? It already happened. Where you been buddy? lol
Yea once they make an SDK for the PC.
I agree. I would definitely consider developing for the iphone, except that I dont have a mac. a $99 license is not such a significant investment, but when you couple that with a new Mac to develop on, the risk is a bit higher if things dont pan out.
There won't be an SDK for the PC. The technology is built on OS X. Just like there's no Microsoft Visual Studio for the Mac, there won't be Xcode for the PC any time soon.
Apple is going to use the iPhone halo to push the Mac, and keep leveraging the technology back and forth.
