There won't be an SDK for the PC. The technology is built on OS X. Just like there's no Microsoft Visual Studio for the Mac, there won't be Xcode for the PC any time soon.

Apple is going to use the iPhone halo to push the Mac, and keep leveraging the technology back and forth.

I agree. I would definitely consider developing for the iphone, except that I dont have a mac. a $99 license is not such a significant investment, but when you couple that with a new Mac to develop on, the risk is a bit higher if things dont pan out.

This is huge, the iphone will really own the mobile community. Like JKT said, they need to perfect the process, but other than that they have it.

Then Apple had better hire more people to work on the backlog of iPhone Dev Program applications. My employer has been waiting over a month to get approved.
