Yet Another Next Gen iPhone Concept -- The Super-Thin!
Gizmodo has been on a next-gen iPhone concept craze as of late, and now they may have just gone too far... er, too thin! A more modest redesign, this one just sharpens the edges off the current model and adds a touch of inset ear-speaker flourish.
It doesn't thrill my design-sense personally, but what do you think? Should Apple continue minor evolutions given how popular the iconic iPhone remains, or do they need to shake us up with something revolutionary again, already?

That's a terrible design. I would not purchase that.
I would not buy that phone.
you all say i wouldnt buy that phone yet it looks almost identical to the current one except thinner. i would go for a thinner iphone in a second. its already small but why not make it smaller.
i agree that we are not likely to see a major redesign until there is actually a worthy competitor to the iphone.
maybe next summer if the Palm Pre is successful.
That design is crap. I would try my luck with another phone if that’s the new design. There is a point when too thin is too much. Remember that scene in Zoolander “God, is that you?”. There is a point when too small becomes ridiculous.
Leave it as it is, it's perfect!
Apart from the lack of proportion between the top and bottom, this could be something to look for.
It resembles to the current iPod touch, so I guess people would buy it.
Put it under the magic 8-ball test! I would not buy this phone either. It looks extremely identical to the current model of the iTouch.
No matter what, am sure that Am gonna love it.
I think you could shave with the top of that thing.
No way they'd do this. Can you imagine trying to push the Home button while it's resting on a table? It would rock back and forth (if it didn't fly up and hit you in the face).
I don't know what everyone else is talking about, I really like this thing. I like the small slot where the speaker peaks out all the way across the top. Along with the slim design and the subtle border around the edges. I am sure this is another fake design, but still cool none-the-less.
But, it wouldn't be enough for me to want to upgrade my iPhone 3G. Think about the cosmetic changes from the original iPhone to the iPhone 3G. It was so minimal, the only really difference was the backside.
Too "snappy."
dannng the ipod touch is thin enough as it is...feels weird in my hand. this would be weird too I can imagine. Me no likey...
It would replace all my dinner knives! And I could see the calls to apple, "uhhhh I snapped/bent my phone can you refund it please?"
it's a great idea; make the battery smaller. Who needs more battery life LOL.
To all this are saying they don't get why anyone would not like this, enjoy your super thin fancy iPhone until the battery runs out in oh say 30 mins to an hour? Yeah that's PRACTICAL. There's a point where something feels overdesigned. When a phone has already garnered a whole cottage industry of add-on batteries you attach to it, you really want a phone that's thinner so it has LESS battery life? Right...
That is one of the ugliest phones I have ever seen. The itouch is already way too thin... it feels too light. I would never get this phone. Ever. Unless of course Stevie Jobs does actually come out with phone, in which case I will love it, just because Stevie told me to.
if they go to OLED screens as has been rumored battery life wont be an issue and sorry but 5 years ago we would have been saying there is no way a phone as thin as the iphone 3g could exist because of battery size.
after looking at it more i do agree that it would not be able to sit still on a table and would rock back and forth which i would not like.
I wouldn't buy it because of its only difference from the current design - the thinness/frailness. My big hands would not be able to hold that phone comfortably.

And now we are saying its already thin enough. Any thiner just makes it harder to hold on your shoulder, more subject to bending and edge damage and just plain not necessary.
If new screens and batteries arrive that make this design possible I will take them: but only sized to fit the current frame.
That way I can get back to charging the phone every three days like my old KRZR.
After three years of people whining about absurdly short runtimes in iPhones I find it absolutely jaw-dropping that people want form over function yet again. Have we learned nothing in this time? Are we now so brain washed we believe its NORMAL to have to charge a phone twice a day?
Ya........NO......
Don't like that design. I like the "unibody" type designs that have been floating around.
Umm, where do you plug in your earbuds? LoL, I think the design looks "cool" but not practical. I don't think this design would make me go out and buy one. My 3G is good enough for me.
That design is shit. It's hideous. The current iPhone looks much more well-rounded, and to those of you saying why not go thinner, unless iPhone switches to a different display type (OLED or OLCD to save energy) there is NOT enough room in the phone to go thinner.
This looks disgusting. I would never buy it. It looks dangerous.
not to be rude, but thats the ugliest phone i've ever seen. This makes an i355 look good.
I think the style of the iphone should remain the same.....I do want a burgundy iphone though =)
guys....please remember that this is not real...concepts are not reality - it's just a Photoshop image.
Also, remember that EU law state that all mobile phones MUST have a removable battery...my guess is this will be implemented in the next generation, for EU countries anyway.
no nono keep it justadd more updates
I'll buy everything if it's shiny and from Apple
what is apple now trying to make the first iphone to be able to cut a real apple?
Its almost perfect but, is't an 8mp xenon flash camera, a massive 4 inch screen, and of course, a free phone for any network in world? And other features like: FM radio, blue tooth, 3g and longer battery life. Then, is it a perfect phone. A mobile phone should be as slim as 3mm. Even, sony has intro. an OLED TV with just 3mm thin. what matter to me is the features and the affordabilty.
I want to make a account I gust don't no how
