I've been using OneDisk for these reasons for a long time. Yes, it costs money, but provides you with powerful file management system. I still do recommend OneDisk for people who wants some additional features.

I haven't worked with other paid apps, so can't say nothing.

Is anyone else having trouble with the App crashing when they try to use contacts to send an email link? I was in Apple forums and someone else was having this problem too

@Rene Ritchie @avt LOL, I guess some people just don’t get it. Any way this is a great app that Apple should have released with the introduction of MobileMe. It would be even more useful with added features already present in currently available third party apps.

ooOOoo, it's so much snappier than the web interface!

One thing I'd love to see Apple implement is the ability to copy the URL of a shared item via the built in copy and paste functionality of the iPhone. I don't only want to email - often I'd want to twitter / SMS links to others.

@Rene Got it through the link above – thanks! It’s on the Canadian app store now when you search for iDisk, but not with the rest of the Apple apps when searching ‘Apple Inc.’ Weird. ;P

Maniacfive download CyberDuck from macupdate.com and use that to upload to mobileme. Works really well. Temp solution til Apple works out the Finder speed issues.

BTW... it is in the US App store reachable on your phone now. Showed up just before my post above.

It makes me a sad pony that iDisk on the desktop is so unbeliveably slow to upload, when its so quick to stream and view on the phone… bad apple, bad!

Great app! I’ve been waiting for this and it does exactly what I need & want it to do. My only gripe is that uploading files via the finder on Mac is slow. I use CyberDuck instead to upload and it works great and is free. Hopefully Apple will work on the Finder upload issue.

I’m just noticing this but isn’t Apple ignoring it’s own iPhone rules by have the settings inside the app itself and not in the iPhone settings?

I love this application. I was using MobileFiles by QuickOffice. However, strangely, I was no longer able to access it once I downloaded Apple's iDisk. It says I was not using the correct password…when, heretofore, it’s been fine.

One attribute of MobileFiles I liked alot (but which appears to be missing from iDisk) is that you could move a file from the iDisk to the iPhone itself so you could access the document/file without an internet connection.

Unlike Jessi above, I was able to manipulate files using MobileFiles. It did everything that iDisk appears to do. iDisk does however have a better interface.

About time is right!!! I love the share function. I used to tell friends I would send them a download link when I got home, by that time I would have forgotten. Now I can do it right away. Now if there was a way to upload documents directly to MobileMe, that would be truly awesome.

So far this is exactly what I wanted. It even has stuff I didn’t expect like being able to have a recent list of files I’ve already opened. It uses the entire screen to show the file which is so nice! It’s good to be able to see more of my pattern. Being able to share so easily is gonna be so nice. I had been using Mobile Disk, $0.99, but it was only a viewer. You couldn’t interact with your iDisk at all, though you could email a file, and it didn’t work with iWork files very well. It has already been deleted from my 3GS. The best part is MobileMe iDisk caches! I put my phone in airplane mode and was able to open a previously opened file! This will be great for those who travel and those of us who live in the land of Edge.

This app is amazing. You can stream all your uploaded video. Great for smaller capacity devices. Just wish I could play folders vs. individual songs only
