I would rather have Sportacular. It also has push notifications now. Best sports app (overall) by far. MLB At Bat is also amazing.

TWC is now fixed. They had some bad server problems all weekend which prevented the app from working. Usually very reliable.

They need to be fixing The Weather Channel. It sits there and loads until the ad loads, which is not happening lately.

Not my favorite, but interesting nevertheless is NaviCad.

It's new and cheap and let's you play with google 3D models. If you have a 3Gs apparently you can use the compass to look around the models.

My favorite app this week has been Roadee. It's a gps navi with voice guidance and uses free map data streamed from openstreetmap.org. Works great depending on how well your area has been covered, and the voice synthesis is pretty decent. The user interface is not very good, and as the description says on iTunes it's definitly not tomtom. But for a very accurate gps navigation app with voice guidance, $1.99 is a real bargain.

One more question...then does jailbreaking allow for a better print app since background is available? When I did a search for JB apps, I didn't see a print app.

Thanks for the print app responses. I have the HP app and a new HP wireless all-in-one. I was hoping HP could revise their app to include webpage/attachment/note/contact printing as well.

Seems HP could make $ doing that since no one else has figured it out.

I think it was pretty clear that HP released its photo printing app as a Nudge to Apple to prove to them that printing is something easily accomplished with an OS platform like the iPhone.

If they can do it in the sandbox, Apple can do it system wide for some types of printers. (wifi, bluetooth, IPP, etc).

There is no reason this requires a background process, although it could work better that way. But it probably requires APPLE to step up and add it as a service in the iphone rather than leaving it to every app developer to work out how to do it themselves.

Like so much in the iPhone OS, Apple can simply grab this from the open source community. CUPS is opensource, and it takes no resources at all in the idle state.

There are other apps, but they only work with certain wireless/IP printers.

Printing on all computers is a background application, so for something like this to work, like most of us want, the iPhone would need to allow background apps to run, which it does not do.

My pick is resident evil 4, great console like gaming experince, the graphics are good, gameplay is great, an overall great experince for the on-the go gamer. Its only 8 bucks to, way better cost than it would be for a full blown console.

I got MobileNavigator from Navigon let me tell you is great but there is a little problem when trying to get addresses from my contacts, most of the time it won't get it right, I have to put the address myself but overall Great App. P.S. Please Navigon give us real traffic data.

My pick this week...NewsFuse. And it was just updated 8/15/09. A great app to keep up with the news.

Several news web apps in one, including msnbc, fox news, cbs, abc, and time magazine to mention a few. Only .99 and well worth it.
