Please address this issue. I hope in the near future firmwares that apple update this little and simple issue. I know this doesn't only happen to me, but most but maybe all iPhone users come across. The ability to cancel a text message...
I hope that apple can put a cancel button inside the message app. For Ex: Do you ever come across where you send a text message and you had a typo or you sent the message to the wrong person? I hope you guys can address this to apple. Thank You...

Anyone experienced problems playing music with 3.1 update?

Tonight, was at gym, listening with included 3GS headphones and tracks were skipping and playing super fast like they were 45s (records for those younger people).

Never had problems before?

Oops, correction: I meant to say that the original iPhone 3G was kept in the lineup at $99.

I remember that in the last iPhone livecast Matt had bemoaned the fact that Apple had reduced the price of the new iTouches, instead of keeping them at the sane price and offering more features.

But Apple managed to do one better this time. By keeping all the models looking the same (no camera), they were able to believably reintroduce the old 8GB iTouch as part of the new lineup, thus giving the illusion of dropping the price of the new models. When in fact, they introduced the new models at $79 & $100? more than the models they replaced, thus increasing their profit margins without people complaining about why the price had gone up as opposed to previous years.

So, in short, removing the camera was all about profits, marketing, and PR.

BRILLIANT!

Cameraless iPod Touch is the result of success of iPhone 3GS launch.

Remener that when iPhone 3GS was launched, Apple kept the old 3G in the lineup at the "magical" $199 price. This had the effect of lulling many into thinking they had managed to offer the new lineup at the same price as last year.

So successful was this strategy that Apple wanted to use it again on the iPod Touch launch. But to make it believable, they needed to have them all look the same. So, they reduced the price on the old entry level iPod touch by $29 while raising the price on the real new iPod Touch by $71. By presenting all three together they managed to raise the price on the new product while seducing people like Matt on last week's show into believing they had actually reduced the prices. Brilliant!

No, icebike didn't post the above. Rene, when are you going to lock down the site to prevent this impersonation crap...?

@Linoox:
I think this is a good idea in general to add a problem corner section. Not with any clear intent of solving these problems, but just so listeners are aware of them, and where to go to read more about them. In fact this would also make a nice sidebar on the website.
Two minutes trawling the Forums at Discussions.Apple.Com looking for high Views counts combined with high Replies counts will reveal major trends. No point in going past the first two pages of topics.
For instance the current hot threads are:
Mysterious random total shut downs following 3.1 update
http://tinyurl.com/olojl2

Strange WiFi problem on iPhone 3G after 3.0 update (persists in 3.1) http://tinyurl.com/lkrlbf

iPhone 3GS with fw 3.1 – battery life gets even worse http://tinyurl.com/puuvyq

Most of those are cited on the TUAW link in the post above.

I would really like to hear Rene's opinion on the constant problems with new iPhone firmware. Over at TUAW they have hundreds of commenters telling how the 3.1 update bricked their iPhones for good.

http://www.tuaw.com/2009/09/15/iphone-3-1-problems-flood-our-tip-box/

Has Apple's quality control gone down? Such things shouldn't happen and especially not with Apple products.

Seriously people, what's with the constant "First!" posts. At least post something useful along with it instead of wasting space on my computer screen, kind of like this post is wasting it.

P.S. People actually still use Windows Mobile?
