Unfortunately NNW 2.0 keeps crashing. Works fine for an hour or two then crashes on startup. A delete and re-install works for a little while then back to crashing. Looks like a few people are having the same issue. http://forum.newsgator.com/Topic53269-71-1.aspx#bm53460

I was using the old version which worked ok so I went ahead and bought the premium version. Darn thing has crashed HARD several times, even a power down doesn't fix it, gotta uninstall the app and re-load it. The fact that google reader keeps track even thru an uninstall is it's only saving grace for now.... A few more crashes and this app is history (that'll fix em).

When i first updated my iPhone with the latest version of NNW, the badge count got stuck at 188. Wouldn't move no matter how many feeds there were.

When i backed up my iPhone after that, the badge totally disappeared. Still nowhere to be seen. :-/

Tried this app and it takes forever to load all the feeds that I have. Nothing can top the webapp for Google Reader because it has a simple user interface and it loads all of the feeds I have quickly. I have yet to discover an RSS Feed app that can top Google's web app.

Can Google turn this into an actual app w/ more features? ... Just curious.

I really liked the previous version of this app, especially that it was in sync with the desktop version of the application on my Mac at work and my Mac at home.

Now... terrible. I don't want to use Google Reader.

I'm with most of the other here, you simply can't beat Google Reader web app. No point in trying. Its fast, easy to use, in sync regardless of which platform I read on, and easy to add/delete feed.

The only way this app would appeal to me is if I spent a great deal of time traveling. I could launch it and sync before the flight and be able to read in the air. But since no one has posted how well (if at all) that works I just can't see why I would want this.

Major FAIL.

NNW has been a real disappointment. Their transition was not smooth, and they angered a lot of customers. We waited a long time for this iPhone app, and it's a real disappointment. It is so feature-deficient.

Newsstand is much better.

This is my favorite app now!!! I was sad to see newsgator.com die and I started using Google reader but it lacked an iPhone app. Then along comes this bad boy!!! So much better and with all the bells and whistles I wanted. Does everything short of posting on FB. I love the ability to post to Twitter! A must have!

I have never found an app better than the webapp for Google Reader.

Until these RSS apps allow you to share stories with your own note on them and allow you to comment on your friends shared items I won't bother looking at them. I guess it's up to Google to release that API so developers can take advantage.

I'm very unhappy with this "upgrade". The badge count doesn't work, you can't adjust settings such as how long to keep read and unread items, there is no way to rearrange the order of items. As soon as all items in a folder are read it vanishes until there are new items, then it re-appears. It also takes forever to load. Big step back, this was no where near ready for release.

can i go back to the old one? I use NetNewsWire as a mac application as well, it was great that both were in sync...now on iphone all is lost, i don't want to use the google reader...i thought it was an add-on to already existing system...oh well, i guess my fault that i missed that...

I have always used NetNewsWire on the Mac and had high hopes for the iPhone version, but I have been disappointed by the iPhone app twice now. The 1.0 app was very weak on functionality and slow. 2.0 made a few changes, but does not seem to be a major improvement. The AD version is the worst Ad implementation I have seen since the Ad takes a 1/3 of the initial page. The initial sync was still slow and the what's new section is for 24 hours only.

I use the Safari based Google Reader and Byline on the iPhone. Sadly, both are much better clients that Netnewswire for iPhone, so I won't be changing any time soon.

Why buying an app for GReader? The mobile version is great! All features and well laid out. The only con is that you have to be online.

Also worth trying is NewsStand, which I've been using for around a year now. It too syncs with Google Reader (and thus with NNW, which I use on the Mac) but has far more features than NNW. It's more expensive, but well worth a look.

I've heard so much about it, I was really disappointed in the app. I use Google Reader on the phone when I have a few spare minutes to catch up on blogs. But when I launch NNN, it takes several minutes just to update. And it seems to lack some basic features like "Mark as Unread." Maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't seem like the amazing feed reader I hoped it would be.
