It is not all that surprising that the Flash-compiled binary is less efficient than one compiled directly from Objective-C, but the question for Adobe is if this prerelease demonstration is close to its potential, or if it is merely their OSX 10.0 (neat but slow technology) which will undergo rapid optimizations.
