Dunk a Palm Pre and Win an iPhone 3GS
This one will be painful to watch for the good folks over at Precentral.net. Heck, even we feel a bit bad about this one but It seems as if the owner of this particular Pre had some major screen issues that he couldn't live with any longer - 3 cracked screens in the span of 3 months.
Rest be assured, this device will be replaced with a new iPhone 3GS. At least that's what his friends told him...

If he had bought an iPhone in the first place and decided to dunk it out of frustration, he would have had a second chance. I accidently knocked mine into the bathtub and was able to dry it out with my wife's hair dryer!

Yep, dumb... I'd like to try a Pre, but I do love my iPhone even though it doesn't have mms or voice dialing.

It is just how careful and responsible you are. I had my 2g for 2 years and never had a cracked screen, and yet my friends break their screens days after getting it.
If he's breaking the screen that often, he's going to do the same to his iPhone.
He said the reason his Pre screen cracked 3 times in 3 months was due to overheating!! That is completely unacceptable! Enjoy your iPhone..smart choice! The rush to buy every new self-proclaimed "iPhone killer" often results in this kind of frustration....solution, just stick with the best & let the imitators try & fail.

Remember. Does anyone else have a fast typing problem with the 3.1 software? I type quick, and 3.1 has slowed the response time of the keyboard, I think.

Looks like the Pre is pretty waterproof. It lasts quite a while!
Felt like doin the samething to my BB Storm, but instead I sold it and got some of my money back, that helped to buy my iPhone 3gs... To each there own.....
I love my palm Pre & the fact that my sprint bill is half that of a ATT Iphone bill! My roommate has ATT & always has dropped calls & hi assed bills. He's leaving ATT when his contract ends. FORMER IPHONE CUSTOMER

The only thing needing a dunk is the Iphone. It is so old and outdated. The Pre and the HTC HERO handily whoops its ass. There's an app for that...oh one at a time...LMAO
I went through 4 of them for the same reason. I too now have a 3gs. It blows the pre out of the water in most ways. It still would be nice for apple to allow some multitasking though. I know it's possible because I do it with the jailbrake app "backgrounder".
He could replace the Pre thru insurance and have the iPhone and a Pre.
Palm should sell gsm pre in Asia, i.e. China.
That's really a huge market!
It's dumb to do that but, he made a couple of good points : #1 can't deal with a pre even if your drunk.
2 He probably felt sorry after, but not for the pre but for the beer he wasted.
3 We all realized that it works better under liquid.
@drew j: lol What does having a iphone have to do with getting puss? I have had a iphone since launch and get plenty of "puss". Was not a problem before it either.
@former iphone user: Im sorry you have to resort to going to the worse carrier in the land. Not sure what you mean by your sprint bill is half of a att iphone bill. My bill is $102.74 every month unlimited data,text and voice. The same plan on sprint is $99. But you get there sh***y live tv and other garbage that no uses. As far as dropped calls and coverage go. I have had nothing but the best 3g coverage in upstate NY. And I had about 3 dropped calls all year. I have had sprint and verizon 4 years on each. Had dropped calls on both.

I had an iPhone went to sprint got the palm pre and let's just say the palm pre is a great device for what it is but I swear it also the most flimsy peice of crap ever I went through 5 palm pres in a month and I never did anything to the phone so geuss what I bought another iPhone today and screw palm and sprint
