Will Chad stand fast on his No iPhone for Verizon prediction?
This should be interesting...
I think he will. He's going down with the ship.
Personally, I don't see why all the Big Red rumors have flared up (again). Is there something I've missed?
I was with verizon for years. All they have proven to me is that they'll do all they can to nickel and dime you for everything (such as charge me $40 for the software to get pictures off of my camera phone). I'm not an AT&T appologist, but I live in Atlanta And their Coverage is decent. Speeds are okay (1800-2400). If verizon offered the iPhone there's no way I'd switch. Although, I would not mind seeing others leave to free up the data network.
2, ok, 3 things:
1) Apple made a conservative bet when setting the 70/30 app split with developers. With 18 months experience, they now know they can afford a 75/25 split to encourage development.
2) There will be an iPhone/iTouch/iSlate SDK that will run on the iSlate for even more/faster development, with the iSlate benefitting from being able to natively run the apps a developer is testing.
3) I know you want me to give it up already, but there will be a gyroscope on the iSlate and next gen iPhone/iTouch.
Also, freeform touch typing will be possible with a combination of proximity/infrared/capacitive sensors.
Hey Rene, will you be at the keynote on wednesday??
I guess only the first post gets any response.
@3GSObsessed: my experience has been that Engadget gives the beat coverage at these big Apple product announcement events.
@waidt: If you mean a response from me, I try to get to as much as I can, but half the fun is reading what folks like you share -- your speculation is enticing!
@Rene: as in roll-your-eyes enticing, no doubt. Hey, if I'm right I hope you'll give me some credit, and if I'm wrong, ridicule me.
