i used the redonsw one.. im running 4.3.5 on a 3g but i got it to work i downloaded a theme off it.. i let it restart.. but it got stuck on the apple logo.. i restored it.. jailbroke it again and then it did the same thing.. do i have to downgrade it. i read that 4.3.5 has high security and that it freezes and glitches

In my opinion, iPad's future is especially secure with the use of the device as a business tool, such as with the 2X Client for iOS (http://www.2x.com/virtualdesktop/ios)...it's a free download and lets you use Windows apps from your iPad, giving you application publishing and RDP Remote Desktop capabilities for free, in contrast to the Citrix Receiver and Wyse PocketCloud. Definitely worth a look.

I never thought of the iPad as a 'thin client.' Although from a purely technical standpoint, it may qualify. It's just so functional that it never occurred to me. I did, however, think that the iPad would be a fantastic tool for remote access, and it's great to see that becoming a reality.

There are other clients already out there, like Jaadu (mentioned above) or the combined RDP and VMware View client from Wyse named PocketCloud. I use this one fairly often on my iPod touch and the speed, stability and the cool mouse pointer is worth every cent. IMHO much better than Jaadu. Man, I really look forward to get my hands on a iPad to test PocketCloud there.

This is the only reason I would fork out money and buy an iPad in it's current form. Controlling a Windows 7 computer via an iPad sounds fantastic!

You can already RDP into windows boxes with the iPhone. Jaadu RDP is the best client I have used on any mobile device. I would have to say it is the best and most useful app on the iPhone. Well worth the $25 I paid for it.

And yes you can watch Flash but it probably will not be very smooth unless your on a local network.

This is pretty cool.

Citrix is such a bandwidth hog that OTHER THAN local use (intranet) it simply does not scale well at all.

But its great for a campus or in-house pushing of apps to the work floor while maintaining strict control of the software and database.

Still, if they are working on a Mac OSX version (as rumored in another TiPb story), why not talk to Uncle Microsoft and have them release a native Win7 os for it too?

Citrix has always been something of a kludge and desperate measure.
