Say Hello to TiPb: The iPhone, iPod, and iPad Blog!
We're proud to say that The iPhone Blog is now TiPb: your #1 iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad blog!
A little SPE network news before we get to our weekly list o'links. We've been calling TiPb 'TiPb' instead of 'The iPhone Blog' for so long now, we figured we may as well make it official. Add in that the iPhone platform now encompasses the iPhone, iPod Touch, and the newly announced iPad and renaming the site pretty much became a foregone conclusion. Same great content, new shorter URL to type in!

Now ppl can stop complaining about iPad news.
yawn. You would do best not to report on the ipad unless its your dissing it because its an absolute piece of crap, lets not encourage apple to pull this kind of thing again.
Oh well, the sales of the iPad when it's released will finally put these critics to rest.
@IShirk agreed! Although, even with all the research I've done on the iPad, the extreme hype has me wondering if I've just simply 'missed the point'. Can someone please enlighten me on why the iPad is on par with the 'game changing' iPhone OR iPod? I was excited (and still am) about these new hardware platforms but the iPad just seems lackluster to me.
Waiting on someone to convince me...
As for this blog...I'm going somewhere else for news if this is going to turn into what I think they're trying to turn it into.
@Bshecko
No! Please don't go!! Oh wait, BUH BYE!!!
Bravo... Love the name change regardless of what it is for. Can't wait to come here for ipad news.
Shouldn't it be the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPod Touch XL blog?
wow im a lil surprised to see no hype here about the name change, i think at my home(precentral.net) that their is more talk about this name change B.S. must not be that fun of a community here at tipb as I'm used to at home, lame .....
@Menace187: then stop trolling and GO HOME??
PS Rene I think this name change is kind of silly, all the devices run iPhone OS and therefore are already covered under the "iPhone blog" mantra...
And now the full name breaks the continuity in the SME network, since it's no longer phone-based.
If you think AndroidCentral doesn't report on things that run on the Android platform that aren't phones, you're fooling yourself.
It's one less DNS redirect in my life, I'm for it.
@MrAnonymous
lol uhm alright. haha
I personally don't like the name change, what the hell is a "tipb" for example.
Had it been named that 18 months ago, I'd never have clicked the link!
While similar, the iPad is quite a different device to the iPhone - and while there will be some overlap of course, I think the customer base will be strikingly different.
Looks good to me. There's only so much you can keep writing about one iphone. These 3 have so much in common that you can't ignore them all and they run basically the same OS.
@Dryland - x2 @IShirk - We all are so glad the fact YOU disagree with a device(or a particular feature) has so much impact on the electronics community. Your overall contributions and innovations have brought so much into the mobile device community. Thank you Steve Jobs. Obviously YOU shouldn't be running a multibillion dollar company
@ Bshecko - Holla!
@Menace187 - um why are you here? Holla!....troll
I personally don't need an iPad, but the device looks awesome in person and as much as the features aren't anything new to you iPhone/iPod touch owners(cause everyone doesn't have one you know), it will still bring that wow factor to the sheer size of the device and especially those new to apple. I have confidence it'll sell enough that you same trolls will be here next season b i t c h i n g about what your iPad doesn't have now.
Back on topic, great name change
@Someguy.
Im the biggest apple fanboy in existence, i love almost everything apple.
But when they release a 10 inch ipod touch and slap a new name on it, that kinda pisses me off as a consumer looking for the next big thing. I never said that they werent going to make money or that apple should not have released it, just saying im disappointing that this device looks to help the stockholders over the consumer.
Just my two cents, just looking for some innovation.
WIN AN APPLE IPAD
