Does anyone think that the lack of multi-touch functionality will hinder Apple approving this? Or will Mini showing up Safari be justification enough?

  2. Gregg says:

    Repost!! Lol!!

  3. francolaslasa says:

I must say originally I was lukewarm about hearing Opera coming to the iphone because safari is by far the best mobile browser I've ever used (even Opera mini 5 which I've used on my blackberry storm) however seeing this in action I'm really excited and hope I can get this baby on my iphone ASAP !

  4. Freiteez says:

Wow a lot better then I expected. I used to use opera on my helio ocean but this looks promising

  5. jamie says:

hope it's approved and lives up to expectations!

  6. Jin Lim says:

i am SUPER excited for this app. I really hope apple lets it through. I mean if they let Bing go through...

  7. Senjo Gabriel says:

its about time! i would love to download that asap

  8. unchew says:

i would imagine they wont approve this citing duplicate functionality and will be added to the jail break reasons which would be unfortunate

  9. Jim Chang says:

That looks quick and snappy, the compression on Opera's end means edge is adequate and it means more battery life for me!

  10. Seth Carroll says:

I would love to see Opera make it to iPhone. I used Opera Mini on an LG Rumors a few years back and have played around with Mini 5. I can't wait to see how this browser transfers over to iPhone, and maybe even iPad. :)

  11. Dave Ferrandino (dave01568) says:

    I like multi page fast

  12. miked says:

Yeah goodbye Safari for me and hello Opera Mini :)

  13. sfwrtr says:

Hope Apple is wise. Opera through the EU made Microsoft submit to allowing browser choices on Windows to end non-competition charges. Apple should be advised to avoid the MS's woes.

While I would certainly get Opera were it to become available, what I really want is Firefox developed for the iPhone, complete with add-ons.

And beyond that, wouldn't it be neat to get something like Thunderbird for email? I sure do miss my junk filters on the Apple email app...

  14. Orangensaft says:

OMG I WANT I WANT I WANT! Speed Dial, Slick Tabs, Smooth Animations, and most of all In-Text Search! A Geek's Dream!!!

  15. Chaibynight says:

Alright, let's see if this passes the screening process. I'm cautiously optimistic, as Apple really has relaxed and let so many applications hit the market (Snapature, anyone?) so I hope I can download this soon.

  16. Hakala says:

I honestly thought, "Oh, just another app review. Probably equivalent to Googles Chrome-just another IE." but seeing this in action, I was breathtaken. They have put a lot of time and effort into this. This can easily be called equivalent of 1,000,000,000 times the effort of a fart app.

  17. Hakala says:

That bleeped out word up above on my previous comment should read F. A. R. T. Nothing of any serious profanity. Again. F. Then A. Then R. Then T.

  18. Ex j a p resident says:

Used Opera when it first came out for Winblows. Used Mini 3 & 4 on my Nokia E-61i because it loaded quickly. It was ok on the Nokia, but looks fantastic on the iPhone!! Hope it's free!!

  19. Orangensaft says:

Just so glad Opera persisted through the App Store's policies and came out with a browser that has differentiated itself from Mobile Safari enough so as to enhance and complement the default browser in a way that warrants a completely separate native app.

I really hope Apple approves this landmark submission.

  20. USMC says:

Looks pretty cool, I hope we get it. I can't imagine it truly being better than Safari though.

  21. I love the speed dial option. 4 out of 5 times on Mobile Safari I go to the same sites.

Not certain, I'll use it more than Safari though. I'll give it ry though!

    Gary

  22. joki says:

When I got my iphone first thing I looked for in the app store was Opera. Then I realized it's not there. But I hope it'll be there soon!

  23. Dionte says:

I hope apple approves this, any word on when 4.0 is gonna be announced or the new iPhone for this summer?

  24. mike says:

Enjoyed the vid. Dieter come back to the tipb podcasts.
