iPhone HD/iPhone 4G casing in the wild

With the 4th generation iPhone HD/iPhone 4G almost certainly ramping up for production in anticipation for a WWDC 2010 introduction, it's not too surprising parts like the casing are beginning to show up in the wild.
What SmartPhone Medic is showing in the video below matches up to the iPhone prototype Gizmodo got their hands on, once again adding weight to the assertions that this is pretty close to the final design we'll see this June.
SmartPhone Medic also had the iPhone G4 screen back at the end of March. Impossible to keep these things secret anymore?
[SmartPhone Medic, thanks Tim for the tip!]

What's a secret nowadays?
Im ready...are you 'tipb'ers?!
Even with all these parts and phones popping up people are still buying current iPhones. I work at a Best Buy Mobile and we sold out yesterday of 16gb 3GS and the people know there is a new phone coming out. I would like to see how many iPhones were sold after the prototype leak.
I have a coworker that just got a new GS a few weeks ago. He knew there was a new one coming out soon, and we're IT. Specs don't matter to very many people. To most people, an iPhone is an iPhone.
It would be an interesting data point to have as it would give one a sign of how big the nerd crowd is. You know the people who scream specs specs specs and such.
One thing that will be interesting is if Apple will be shipping the front facing camera and how good will it be. 320x240 on 3G? Wonder what the bandwidth of that is?
Apple is capping the upstream bandwidth to something less than 300 kbit/sec upload on a good 3G connection. That's not a lot of bandwidth to work with for "webcam" video. Hopefully it'll support HSUPA.
@Webvex
People are idiots sometimes. Why would you buy a 3GS, its just going to get more and more slow after the next iphone model comes out?!?
Cause it had a built in compass!!! That I used once or twice since I got the thing 9 months ago
I bought a new 32G 3GS in March, even though I knew about the new iPhone coming out. I love the form factor of that phone (though the new one is growing on me), and I didn't want to be stuck with a brand new phone with the typical 1G problems that Apple products usually have - it's my only phone for my biz. Not to mention that the rumors at the time were that the new iPhone was coming out in late July... Early June would've made a big difference to me. :rolleyes: It would've been smarter to wait for the new phone to come out and buy the 3GS on a discount, so sue me!
I don't feel the need to have the latest and greatest (obviously, as my previous phone was a RAZR that I got in 2003-4!), and I'm sure I'll weep copious tears over the new iPhone's screen. :\
I had my wedding dress atnlraeiots at Dream Seams in July. I can't speak more highly of the service I received. A professional service in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. My dress was finished beautifully and thanks to Dreams Seams fit perfectly. I would not hesitate in recommending their services. Thank you
Oh geez, I just noticed - it does have those seams.
"Oh geez, I just noticed – it does have those seams."
What the hell are you talking about?
I'm shocked to see the same little "seams" as the one Giz stole, er, bought. Dexter: look along the edge of the metal bezel. There are one or two little rectangular indentations across the edge. (If you laid the bezel flat the seams would be vertical.)
Jonny Ive seems to always minimize surface detail if possible. I don't see what purpose those little seams have other than decoration, which seems illogical.
Also, in the Giz closeups, the front screen, metal bezel, and back panel don't fit together smoothly. They create a sandwich effect instead of the smooth rounded edges of all previous iPhones: http://www.floptech.com/video/index.html#anchor02
I would like to thank gizmodo for being total d**ks and ruining the whole experience for me. If that's really the new iPhone which I'm 100% sure it's not but if it is. I'm staying with my 3gs.
@Webvex Are you actually in IT?? G5's were discontinued in 2006. I think anyone who is buying a MacPro would be very interested in specs. Otherwise they would buy an iMac or Mini
There is only one carrier with a 4G network, that is Sprint. Also, people are going to be disappointed with the HD on At&t, their network automatically limits streams. Even though the iphone will be HD, At&t customers will not get that experience due to At&t's limitations on bandwidth.
4G, LTE, HSDPA 7.2. It's all the same thing as far as the consumer is concerned, and it is all being rolled out in certain cities as I type and will hit many more in the year to follow. I am much more concerned about the software limitations of the iPhone than the bandwidth allowed by carriers. 4.0 had better change alot or else I might be jumping ship in the near future.
what happened to the front facing cam?? its gone.. crappy at&t
Meh I'll wait till 2011 to see what's next. It's going to have the same 3.5 inch screen I was hoping for one the size of the htc hd2 and thinner. I bought the 32gb 3gs when they came out last year and very happy with it. I have a dozen movies on it and is very clear and fast. Excellent 3G coverage where I live. I'm hoping to see a Tony Stark ironman 2 transparent type of phone next year by somebody that's the phone to have!!!
About those seams, maybe they're attachment/clip points for accessories??? I can't see Apple putting them in the design if they have no purpose.
@Jeff dunn
They are NOT the same, I wish people will stop saying that. Wimax is more similar to an actual internet connection, optimized for heavy, video/media/data/online gaming. LTE, HSDPA are more similar to wireless cell connections. There is a reason Wimax is constantly referred to as, "WiFi on steroids."

Here is the correct link: http://communities.intel.com/servlet/JiveServlet/downloadBody/4895-102-2-7804/WWANCapacityAnalysisWhitePaper.pdf
The link is not posting correctly, between WWAN and Capacity, place an underscore . IT Should show: WWANCapacity.
Forgive me for the multiple post, for some reason TIPB is omitting the underscores and part of the URL. I've created a tinyurl: http://tinyurl.com/39axlu7
I still say this brings the iPhone into the "family" of computing devices and away from the music devices. Gizmode posted one pic of the phone sitting on a desk, and at the angle the pic was taken from, it really looked like a laptop. The flat metal band around its' middle gives it a "laptop look" to it. I can see the iPods keeping the current form. I have a 3G, my wife has a 3GS, and my 3 year old has an iPod touch. If we lay them all down together, and get back 5 feet, it is hard to say which one is which. This will fix that, as there will be no doubt which one is the phone now.
Brilliant information and facts with regard to upload files for having myself begin. I most certainly will keep this particular website link and revisit it.
