Today Apple brings us their Back to the Mac event. Join us for our traditional meta-live blog, chocked full of coverage, color, and commentary. We'll get started just before 1pm ET, 10am PT.

Note: Apple is live streaming the event live via Apple.com. It's using HTTP live streaming, however, which means iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Mac only. (No Windows support yet). So open them in another browser window and watch along with us!

  5. Freiteez says:

White iPhone 4 at least another "coming this year" or release date would be nice. As for Mac...new MacBook air?

  6. Hempsworth says:

Well, http://www.apple.com/apple-events/october-2010 is redirecting back to the main Apple Events page, rather than throwing a 404 like others do, so this could mean we will have it live-streamed.

  7. @purple6haze says:

@Hempsworth Thanks for the heads up.

  8. Nelton says:

Cool if we can see a sneak of OSX.7 and hopefully a iOS Layer in OSX...

  10. Dave Hind says:

Apple is all set to live stream the "Back to Mac" event Live for everyone today. The only catch? You need to have a Mac or iOS device

Here is what the release reads:

Apple® will broadcast its October 20 event online using Apple’s industry-leading HTTP Live Streaming, which is based on open standards. Viewing requires either a Mac® running Safari® on Mac OS® X version 10.6 Snow Leopard®, an iPhone® or iPod touch® running iOS 3.0 or higher, or an iPad™. The live broadcast will begin at 10:00 a.m. PDT on October 20, 2010 on the apple website"

  11. Rob says:

I am going to have the live feed playing on my iPad while watching MacBreak Weekly on my HDTV.

  12. Dood says:

Aw, Rene, you didn't invite me to be your lackey? C'mon. I thought we were cool. You know, like, we have a hand shake and everything.

Pretty sure there will be no mention of a white iPhone.

@Hempsworth, nice catch. I'm guessing the same thing.

  13. Matthew says:

    Apple just announced live streaming

  14. Dood says:

    For Italy...US is still waiting...

  15. Ferrigno says:

    live stream is on !!!

  16. Dionte says:

Ok iMovie 11 trailer feature looks cool, how much is the upgrade? I'll never make full movies, just trailers, they usually tell the whole movie anyways. What turns me off from seeing most in the theater.

  17. Josel says:

$49 upgrade? I bought a Mac only three weeks ago. Can they at least spare a consolation to give free upgrades to people who bough Mac a month or two back?

  18. Josel says:

Microsoft is giving away free upgrade to Office Mac 2011 who bought Office Mac 2008 from August. Can Apple give that same kindness for iLife 2011 upgrade?

  19. game says:

I have to say that for the past couple of hours i have been hooked by the impressive articles on this blog. Keep up the great work.
