Daily Tip: How to have your iPhone, iPad read to you with VoiceOver
There are times when you would love to get some reading done, but are not in a position to stop what you are doing, sit down, and read the old fashioned way. No worries,if you have an iPhone or iPad it already knows how to read for you.

To have your iPhone or iPad read to you:
- Tap Settings
- Tap General
- Tap Accessibility
- Tap VoiceOver
- Turn on VoiceOver
If you find yourself using it often you can set up Triple-click Home as a shortcut:
- Tap Settings
- Tap General
- Tap Accessibility
- Tap Triple-click home
- Set it Toggle VoiceOver (or to Ask if you want a list of options)
Now, when you are out and about and want to have something read to you, like a long forum thread, or a few pages of your latest iBooks purchase, just triple-click the home button and your iPhone or iPad will start reading to you in a surprisingly clear voice. Triple-click again to exit VoiceOver.

Wow, tried it very useful for some people. This phone is incredible
This is great for those with poor sight, this is horrible for the uses you described. Buy an audio book if you need this.
Never knew how to get the voice over to work until now... Good tip TIPB... But very difficult to use
Very Very Very difficult to use ! Just turning it on took 3 tries. When it's on, try to type something and you'll see what I mean. It would be ok if you wanted to hear your iBooks, but other then that it sucks. Although I could be funny to type some jokes about your friends in notes, then have VoiceOver say them.
Sucks, unable to scroll down in menues. Unable to access acessability in settings to turn voice over off. Help!
I had the same problem mate. Did some research. Look here - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3577. In short you gotta plug iPhone into comp and un select in universal access.
