Following up on earlier news that an untethered exploit was handed over to the Dev-Team from developer Stefan Esser, prominent Dev-Team member @MuscleNerd tweeted that the exploit is working and they're hammering out remaining jailbreak issues at this time.

well @i0n1c's untether is solid! Just working out overall 4.3.x JB issues and Cydia :)

It looks like we could see a working untethered iOS 4.3 jailbreak tool released soon based on the progress update, but remember it won't work with the iPad 2 unless a new vulnerability is found and implemented (Apple patched the userland exploit found by Comex in 4.3.1).

Do you think we'll see a jailbreak released for 4.3 soon? Sound off in the comments below!

    hmmmm......

  2. Rodney says:

It's nice news, but I still may pass on it. I'm only jailbreaking in order to unlock, which still does not exist... (>.<)

  3. websyndicate says:

    Cool been waiting patiently.

  4. sooteee says:

    Let's hope so I'm still running 4.1!

    • Rob says:

As soon as it's out, i'm waiting at least 3 days before I do the Jailbreak. Want to make sure everyone else has problems (that get fixed) before I jump on-board.

  5. Jeremy says:

Waiting patiently. iPhone is still on 4.2.1 (jb) and iPad is on 4.3.1 and really needs jb.

  6. buci1er says:

I'm hoping this hits by the time i get home from work tonight. It would be AWESOME for me.

  7. Super Salami says:

crap crap crap!!! I didn't save 4.3 in TU and cydia isn't showing 4.3 or even 4.3.1 as saved for me even though I have it set to automatically save. I really hope I can go straight from 4.1 to 4.3!!

  8. Skywaulker says:

I don't understand. Why won't this 4.3 JB work on iPad 2 if it isn't patched until 4.3.1? My iPad 2 is running 4.3 which still contains the vulnerability so why would it matter if they patched it in 4.3.1? Someone pls explain... Tia

  9. Johndoe says:

Because cronic told me he didnt finish it and is not going to since its not the latest firmware anymore

    • Skywaulker says:

If that's the case, that is absolutely ridiculous. I can understand the dev gods holding onto these exploits for future devices and development but honestly everybody knows that new vulnerabilities will resurrect themselves as time goes on - that's a fact! The past has proven these facts so why not release something that everybody is waiting for when it is able to be done? It sucks.. Maybe I'm just one of the few but honestly if I knew that the state of jailbreak was going to be in the state of mayhem it is with this iPad 2 craziness, I would have held onto my original iPad instead of selling it on eBay. I'm kicking myself each and every day that goes by with no new developments! It goes back to the original question being that if this exploit has been patched as of 4.3.1, it is no longer of use so why the hell wouldn't they release it for 4.3 instead of practically throwing the whole project in the recycle bin? It's a useless dud outside of 4.3! I'm just plain confused.

  10. Ellis says:

Will this work on the Iphone 4.3.1??? That is what I have? I hope this doesn't screw things up!!!!! I see there are talking about 4.3? but not 4.3.1 for the iphone 4 that is? Will the Jailbreak work for that?
