Future iPads, iPhones to be built by Robots

Xinhuanet reports that future iPads and iPhones might just be built by robots, that is if manufacturing giant Foxconn goes ahead with plans to replace workers with up to 1 million mechs:

[Foxconn] currently has 10,000 robots and the number will be increased to 300,000 next year and 1 million in three years, according to [Foxconn founder and chairman, Terry Gou].

Gou announced the robotics initiative during a company dance party, which presumably they'll have less of in the future. Unless, of course, they're replacing workers with dancing robots.

Great, now we'll have robots trying to kill themselves! ;)

    • You says:

      Sick joke. Get out

    • Anarchy1621 says:

LOL!!! I was thinking the same thing. You know Apple won't have to pay that expensive Chinese slave labor to build it for them so they can keep charging exorbitant fees for their tech & the lemmings cam continue to march along to Steve's flute.

In all seriousness, if that is even possible on this blog... Should Apple switch to the whole robot assembly line then they better damn well lower their prices.

  2. Disturbed0Angel says:

    Are they iRobots?

    • Anarchy1621 says:

Take that back right now! You don't own the IP rights to that name or the use of it! Lawyers from 20th Century Fox & Will Smith will be in touch shortly.

Oh and there is already a company called iRobot. But I'm betting when Apple finds out they are gonna sue sue sue...

  3. Anonymous says:

This makes perfect sense since robots won't leak information about new Apple products. This was probably all the brain child of Steve Jobs. Happy Birthday to Rene as well.

Why do I picture a Borg ship headed our way, and the leader if the ship keeps stating DROID, resistance is fruital, all will be aseminated. Kind of scary. I will go down with my Apple product in my hand, we must resist, we must resist..........

    • Embarrassed for you. says:

I'm not sure what fruital and aseminated are supposed to mean, but it is futile to resist being assimilated. Please begin using real words or please buy android, you make us look very bad.

  7. James says:

  13. Don says:

All joking aside, I wonder how many people would lose their jobs with a million robots.

  14. Lmao at the dance party joke.

In all seriousness though, this sucks for all the people that will lose their jobs because of this :( I wonder if it will effect quality standards at all.
