LOVEFiLM, owned by Amazon, is the UK equivalent of Netflix and it has at long last released an app which allows you to stream content directly to your iPad. Previously all you could do was manage your DVD and Blu-ray rental queue.

Watch films instantly as part of your LOVEFiLM membership, and browse the UK’s largest selection of DVDs and Blu-rays.
  • Stream films instantly (wifi only)
  • Watch trailers
  • Rate movies
  • Read user reviews
  • Add, remove and prioritise DVD rental titles
  • Browse the UK’s widest selection of DVDs & Blu-rays
  • Browse by genre, new releases, most popular and coming soon
  • Customise your search results to return only the formats you’re interested in
The LOVEFilm Player app is available in the UK and is iPad only. To use it you need an existing subscription to the LOVEFiLM service. The app is free to download.

  4.  Bren says:

I have LoveFilm so this could be quite cool, however the WIFI only streaming is annoying. I get approx 0.8Mbps on my home broadband due to the distance from the base station, however I can 2.7Mbps on my 3G connection.

I really wish people would stop with the WIFI only nonsense!! Gargh!!

  5. Jon says:

Hope this means that LoveFilm will soon come to AppleTV in the UK too - seeing as we can't have Netflix. (Either that or please improve the iTunes rental in the UK?)
