Infinity Blade II, the follow up to the Epic Unreal 3-powered original, has just become available in the Australian and New Zealand App Stores and should be hitting the U.S. around midnight, ET.

Infinity Blade II continues to raise the bar for triple-A mobile gaming. Journey into the world of the Deathless tyrants and their legion of Titans. Build skills and upgrade characters… all while delving deeper into this mysterious, timeless adventure.

The game, a universal app, will be compatible with the iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad, iPad 2 and iPod touch 4th and 3rd generation.

is it so difficult to create infinity blade 2 where the player can freely explore the world? sorta like Skyrim? sure this game looks nice and all but it has only one thing in it -fight. everything else are just cut scenes. No.... thanks but no thanks. I'll pass. even if it was for free...

Creating huge game worlds like that would require way more investment than they could likely justify for a game on this platform, besides which it would require more storage than a lot of people with 16GB models have free (not that I'd complain, being in the 64GB camp). If you want an open-world game you might check out GTA: Chinatown Wars, despite somewhat finicky controls it's probably the best 'core' gamer-game on the platform (Dead Soace being a strong second, aided by much better controls).

well there are games like Shadowgun for example that manages to squeeze under 1gb and a plenty of RPG Gameloft games with very good graphics. I'm sure IB2 could be squeezed into 2gb game. Dark Meadow is even more interactive than that. I've played Dead Space btw. boring... very boring nothing like the original PC game. The whole game consists of the same corridor and room over and over again. stopped playing it after the first few levels...

Does this continue the character's progress from Infinity Blade 1? Can anyone confirm or deny this please?

Very nice demo of what a game could be on the iPad/iPhone.

I wonder what's taking so long to use the engine and port a real game like Dragon Age Origins or Mass Effect. I bet there is more than enough market for it, specially at the $6.99 price range.

Is it as boring as the first one?
