Legally port Siri to unsupported iPhones, iPad with Spire [Jailbreak]

Siri ported to unsupported iOS devices via Spire

iPhone jailbreak developer chpwn, along with the help of planetbeing and Ryan Petrich, have released Spire -- a legal way to port Siri to currently unsupported iOS devices like iPhone 4 and iPad 2.

Spire uses a new method to obtain the files necessary for Siri, so it doesn’t have the copyright issues encountered by previous attempts. Similarly, rather than directing all traffic through a specific proxy server (and the associated privacy issues), Spire allows you to specify your own proxy server.

Available in Cydia now, and if you need extra help, jump into our jailbreak app forum.

Just another reason an IOS 5.0/5.1 untethered Jailbreak is so desperately needed for iPhone 4/iPad 2.

Was hoping for it for Christmas, but Santa didn't deliver. I know the guys do it for free, but this particular JB seems to be the most elusive yet.

Maybe it's just 'cause I have the most to gain from this now, now including Siri.

There is no Spire into Cydia ?!

    Someone found it ?

  4. Arin says:

This is a bit confusing... do we need to add a new repository?? Did they already pull it?? i can't find it in cydia, at all.

  5. Maggard says:

You don't need to install a new Repository. Just wait for your Sources to finish updating before you search for it (3-4 minutes). Just found it and downloaded it, literally, 20 seconds before this post.

However, we're apparently on our own for now regarding Proxy servers...hrm...

  6. King Pride says:

The Untether Jailbreak is out, if your tethered, just go to cydia let it update and search for " Corona " its like a red icon or something like that, once you've installed it, test it out, reboot, Spire is also in there after Cydia updates, recommend you do it over wifi its a 100mb file took 20 minutes on 3g to install. Who need a Proxy Server Address lol I go mine and Im working fine, oh that rhymed lol
