2K Drive will be screeching its tires on iPhone and iPad before the year is out

We're pretty spoiled on iOS with good quality racing games, but that isn't stopping the folks at 2KGames throwing their name in the hat with this; 2K Drive for iPhone and iPad. This racer comes with a pretty impressive resume too, with the development team comprising some of the teams that developed Project Gotham Racing on the Xbox, and Blur. If that doesn't get you excited, then the launch trailer surely will.

2K Games is describing this as a "premium racing game," and from the graphics, to the environments – I recognize London in there for one – to the multiplayer action, there's no reason not to take them at their word. We appear to be looking at a range of different licensed vehicles too, with in-game customization options, and even actual real world car and racing news right within the game.

2K Drive will be hitting the App Store later this year for iPhone and iPad, and I for one can't wait. With the likes of Real Racing 3 and the soon to be released Asphalt 8 setting a high bar, 2K Drive will need to be pretty special to compete. But this first look gives us every indicator it may well be. Who else is excited?

Will it have interior cockpit view??? I just can't play a racing game that doesn't have a cockpit view.
