Mac Buyers Guide
At first glance Apple seems to have a simple product grid when it comes to their personal computer line-up, the Mac. You can get a laptop or desktop. If you want a laptop, you can choose between the ultra-portable MacBook, the MacBook Air and the ultra-powerful MacBook Pro. But you can also choose between a couple of different screen sizes each, along with optional increases for RAM, CPU, storage, and more. If you want a desktop, you can choose between the entry-level Mac Mini, the all-in-one iMac, or the workstation-like Mac Pro. But again, the their are options for just about everything. Which one should you get, and which options with it?

Force Touch is going to do incredible things for accessibility
I'm really excited about Force Touch for a bunch of reasons. But where I think it's going to really succeed? Accessibility.
I've been thinking about Force Touch almost non-stop since the Apple event a few weeks ago — what it means for Macs now, what it could mean for the future of software development, and how it might change artistry on the iPad. I've also been musing on what it could bring to accessibility in computing.

How to use Windows PC peripherals on your new Mac
Windows users who switch to Mac spend large sums on peripherals. You have to throw out that stuff when you get a Mac, right? No.
Making sure all the other stuff — mice, keyboards, printers, displays, external drives, gamepads, and more — works is important, but Apple makes it pretty easy. Whether it's mice, keyboards, printers, monitors, external drives, or more, that's the switcher concern I'm trying to alleviate this week.

Apple Watch apps start hitting the App Store
Apple has begun allowing Apple Watch apps into the App Store ahead of April 10 pre-orders.
While developers can't upload Apple Watch-enabled apps on their own yet, some of the apps shown off in Apple's demos and on the company's web site have clearly been given the green light. That Apple Watch functionality is mentioned in the description indicates it's unabashed as well — what better way to keep interest high then to show the app wheels in motion? Additionally, if Apple is seeding Apple Watch review units in advance of April 10, having apps available will lead to better informed reviews. As teases go, it's a good one.
So, which apps have been updated with Apple Watch functionality?

You don't get to play the gender card to promote piss-poor writing
When you use "People are only attacking me because I'm a woman" as a marketing tool, you hurt every other female professional out there on the Internet.
A tweet today got me irrationally, stupidly, Peter Cohen-levels of angry. Namely, this tweet by Quartz writer Emma-Kate Symons.

If you want an iPhone but don't like Apple, here's your alternative...
Samsung has been at its most successful when filling voids in Apple's iPhone lineup: It offered Verizon support up until 2011, large screens up until 2014. What voids are left to fill now?
The Samsung Galaxy S6 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge have to answer that question, starting with today's pre-order and carrying over to April 10's release date and beyond. It's an answer I'm truly interested in seeing, because right now I have no idea to whom I could recommend either of those phones.
