Rogue Amoeba has updated Airfoil, its app for sending audio from your Mac to iPhones, iPads, Apple TVs, and more. Airfoil 4.9 comes with support for OS X El Capitan, along with the upcoming fourth-generation Apple TV.

In addition to this support, Airfoil 4.9 adds a number of reliability improvements and fixes. Check out what's new in the list below:

-The Instant On component has been updated to version 8.1.1, with support for Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan). -Fetching album artwork from iTunes is now much more reliable when listening to Apple Music or iTunes Radio. -The menu bar icons for Airfoil and Airfoil Speakers have been updated for Retina. We did this before, but there was a complication. This time, it's for real! -Airfoil now has general support for the forthcoming Apple TV (4th generation). -A/V sync with EyeTV has been corrected. -Many other minor fixes and improvements have been made. -Airfoil now requires Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) or higher. If you're still on 10.8 (or lower), be sure to see our Legacy page.

Airfoil is available directly from Rogue Amoeba for $29, though you can download a limited free trial beforehand.
