All you need to know about BBM 2.0 for iOS

BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) version 2.0 for iOS is here, and there's a whole heck of a lot of great new stuff included for us to get our social on. The big news is that BBM Voice and BBM Groups have finally escaped BlackBerry 10 exclusivity, and that's before we even look at location sharing and everything else involved. Fortunately, no-one knows BBM like our buddies over at CrackBerry, and they've got us covered with a full look at what's new!

So, take a look at the links below for the absolute best in BBM 2.0 information, and our first look at the new app back at CES in January. There's plenty to take in, and we'll update this page with all the tips and tricks we come across. If you're left with questions or just want to spread the BBM love, hit up the comments or the iMore BBM forums!

This is great. I used BBM voice frequently on my Z10 before my company moved away from BlackBerry and I was forced to get an iPhone. My wife still has her Z10, so I use BBM all the time with her. The voice quality on the Z10 was amazing compared to a phone call. I haven't tried it yet, but I assume similar differences on iOS.

Its still the fastest mobile messaging app and its bringing new stuff to the market. I swear everyone gripes because BlackBerry is coming back. Unfortunately, no one will admit it.

What do you mean by fastest? I used it for a while with a friend who had Android and often times found messages lagging compared to iMessage with my iPhone friends.

I really like BBM for iOS. It's the best looking IM app, and seems reliable. Whilst I like the pin system and I get why BBM works that way, it's also the thing that makes it difficult to get my other contacts to give it a try. Currently only 3 of 300+ contacts are using it. So I end up using iMessages, Whatsapp, Wechat (Weixin) and Viber on a daily basis, with a pinch of BBM to add some extra flavour!

To be honest, I'd rather not have 300 contacts in BBM, that's what Facebook is for, it's best for just your closest friends and family.

I had great expectations from BBM 2.0 but what a let down it has been. The UI still looks old school. I understand that BlackBerry is trying to make people aware about their UI through BBM on iOS/Android but seems it's not working. They need to optimise for iOS 7 and make the app stable. It just crashed on me while accessing BBM channels moreover, the letters in channels scrambled over each other
