Angry Birds Star Wars for iPhone and iPad now available!

Star Wars and Angry Birds fans rejoice! Angry Birds Stars Wars for iPhone and iPad has finally hit the App Store! In this special edition of Angry Birds, you will join an epic adventure with the Angry Birds in the Star Wars universe, use the force, wield a lightsaber, blast away Pigtroopers, face off against Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Pigs, and more. Can you become a Jedi Master and restore freedom to the galaxy?

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away... a group of desperate rebel birds faced off against a galactic menace: the Empire’s evil Pigtroopers!

With the addition of the lightsaber, blasters, and jedi powers, Angry Birds Star Wars has new gameplay mechanics to include these abilities. The game includes more than 80 levels in icon Star Wars locations like Tatooine. As you play and progress through the levels, your birds will level up to improve their skill and work towards becoming Jedi Masters. There are also hidden R2-D2 and C-3PO bonus levels that can be unlocked.

Just as with every Angry Birds Game, you can use the Mighty Falcon to help you rain down the destruction and get past difficult levels. There is also another in-app purchase called the Path of the Jedi that unlocks 40 Dagobah Challenge Levels with Jedi Master Yoda. From these levels you can unlock the ultimate lightsaber.

Wow. I have some Angry Birds fatigue and I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan but I have to give mad props & kudos to the folks over at Rovio. Playing the game now on my iPhone and it is *incredibly* well done. The tie in to the movie is extremely well done. The new abilities of the birds are very well done.
