Anomaly 2 arrives for iOS with promises of PC-quality gaming on mobile

11 Bit Studios made no secret about their intent to bring Anomaly 2 to mobile and keeping good on their word of a fall release, the game has now arrived in the iTunes App Store. Anomaly 2 takes the RTS tower offense concept from Anomaly Warzone Earth to the next level.

In the years following the invasion of Earth in 2018, the planet is overrun by alien machines. Humankind is on the verge of extinction. Banded together in huge convoys, they search the frozen tundra for food and supplies. Since the war, the roles have been reversed: now our species seems to be the Anomaly on a machine-controlled planet. Your convoy, Commander, is called Yukon.

It's a massive story-driven campaign with multiple ways to play and over one million tactical combinations and transforming troops. To add even more excitement to the game, it features online multiplayer across five different maps and features alternate endings that can be discovered by playing through.

To top it all off, 11 Bit Studios is making a lot of noise about the games new engine that they say offers 'jaw-dropping scale, incredible visual detail and phenomenal special effects' unlike anything you've seen running on a mobile device before. Because of that, they do suggest that the game be ran on an iPhone 4S or newer in order to take advantage of peak performance.

Something to keep in mind if you're going to be giving this one a go. In any case, it's gone live now and you'll find the link below. Be sure to let us know what you think in the comments while we take a further look at it. Does that promise of PC-quality gaming live up to the hype?
