Apple Owns iSlate.com, Let iTablet Name Rumors Commence!
Santa was kind to MacRumors.com, gifting them with discovery that Apple has owned the internet domain name iSlate.com since 2007, though it's been hidden away much of that time:
it seems Apple's name was temporarily exposed as the actual owner of "iSlate.com" for several weeks in late 2007. It was changed back within a few weeks, but MacRumors has found the historic record proving Apple ownership of the iSlate.com domain.
Hey, didn't Bill Keller, executive editor of the New York times reference an Apple slate two months ago?
“I’m hoping we can get the newsroom more actively involved in the challenge of delivering our best journalism in the form of Times Reader, iPhone apps, WAP, or the impending Apple slate…”
Hmmm.... TiPb's just been calling it still unannounced device the iTablet, others have called it the iPad, but how does iSlate grab you?

I dunno, I'd be so afraid of breaking that thing... It's not like you can get a good grip on it like a phone, or set it down like a laptop... Of course, this could just be sour grapes because I have the feeling that that thing will be wayyy outside of my budget!
iSlate sounds much better than iPad.... Not that I'm likely to get one, betting on it being quite pricy.
Eh. I don't see apple naming it that. Maybe macpad? Who knows. Mactouch? If it has mac os I think it'll have "mac" in the name. But again. Who knows...?

It's highly doubtful they're releasing anything powerful enough for Mac OS. But I agree, I'd like it to be.
iPad sounds like an Apple Maxi.
BTW it could just be parked, as in, just incase they want to name it that. Its reserved.
iSlate sounds ridiculous, iPad sounds even frickin' worse... iTablet??? Obvious much? Apple usually has better names than those (except the iPhone 3GS).
iSlate??? No way! In a certain context "to slate" means "to abuse".
The name iSlate is very unlikely to be used, mainly because Apple usually comes out with much better names. Perhaps iSlate is a program or applications website for the tablet. Could be, we'll have to wait and see.

So basically they used to spread the rumors they want to market their product? lol that is wicked and smart..Apple Marketing way is so different and successful than other companies.. people would wait inlines for days and it stays for months since apple will only sell a specific amount of a product a day..
