Apple has acknowledged an issue that has cropped up in iOS 9.3 that causes certain apps to freeze or crash when web links are tapped or long-pressed. The company says that it is working on a fix for the problem, which should arrive in the near future.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple made the following statement.

"We are aware of this issue, and we will release a fix in a software update soon."

The issue affects some of Apple's built-in apps like Safari, Messages and Mail, along with select third-party apps including Chrome and WhatsApp. While some people report that the problems also occurred on iOS 9.2.1, it seems to have become a more widespread error following last week's launch of iOS 9.3.
