Apple TV adds Fox Now, FXNow and Nat Geo to universal search results

The list of services that support universal search on the new Apple TV has expanded to include Fox Now, FXNow, and Nat Geo. Now, when you search for a program using Siri on the Apple TV, the results may include the option to view the program in the Fox Now, FXNow, or Nat Geo. For example, you could do a universal search for a Fox program like The X Files, and the results will offer options to watch in the Fox Now app in addition to iTunes and others.

When the new Apple TV launched in October, universal search supported five services: iTunes, Netflix, Hulu, HBO and Showtime. That was then expanded to include PBS and PBS Kids in January. Universal search can show users if the content they're searching for is available in any of these apps, and it tends to prioritize the service through which the content is available at no extra cost. However, it is important to note that universal search is restricted to fewer services in areas outside of the U.S..
