AT&T staff also now rumored to have been given holiday blackout dates from September 21, the rumored iPhone 5 launch day

AT&T and Verizon staff rumored to have been given holiday blackout dates from September 21, iPhone 5 launch day?iMore previously reported that Apple would be introducing the iPhone 5 at an event on Wednesday, September 12, and releasing it on Friday, September 21. Now, TechCrunch's Jordan Cook reports that AT&T staff has been given a vacation blackout from September 21 to September 30, which exactly matches the Verizon blackouts reported previously.

We’ve received yet another bit of evidence confirming the next iPhone’s September 21 launch. According to an AT&T sales rep, AT&T staff have been given a vacation blackout from September 21 to September 30, just like Verizon employees. Our source also mentioned that blue carrier employees are undergoing training for an “iconic release.”

This information essentially seals the deal save for an official word from Apple. So along with International Peace Day, World Gratitude Day, and Mini Golf Day, mark down September 21 in your calendar. It’ll be a big day.

As of yet, Apple hasn’t issued any invitations so it is still unconfirmed. There is nothing unusual about this as, last year, Apple issued invitations for its iPhone 4S event just seven days before the announcement. If Apple sticks to the same format, expect to hear official news of the event around the September 5; Apple doesn’t believe in giving the press too much notice for events like this.

Update: Not so, says 9to5Mac's Seth Weintraub. Or at least, not certain, not widespread, and maybe not at all.

At first when Rene posted the announcement date and the release date I automatically knew that they were the days. I have always trusted iMore with their articles and always will. I might go off topic just a bit but I like it when blogs actually do some research and actually think about the articles they release. iMore thinks about their articles and publish facts! KnowYourMobile is a specific blog that wouldn't do research and just post rumors as facts, e.g. August 7th, 2012 for the release of the sixth generation iPhone where they weren't right and just went ahead and published it for attention! Overall I just want a blog that tells the truth and provides actual facts and goes into further research and breaks the news and not a blog that just wants attention for a small while for a fake announcement or release and I feel that iMore is a VERY reliable blog. Thanks Rene and the iMore team!

I completely agree with you. This is my favorite site for Apple related news and reviews. Not only do Rene and Co. post facts, they are also open and honest when they post opinionated topics about companies and products from Apple's rivials. They are able to see things from both sides of any story, and therefore I respect them and enjoy their posts for it. Shout outs to the iMore team!

Are we sure AT&T isn't using the time to train its staff on how to block or disable Facetime or 3G? lol
