Following on from XCOM: Enemy Unknown, 2K Games has now made The Bureau: XCOM Declassified available to buy from the Mac App Store. A different game in a different setting, The Bureau is a tactical shooter that's a welcome addition to the Mac gaming stable.

The year is 1962. JFK is President and the Cold War has the nation gripped by fear – but a far more powerful and insidious enemy than communism is threatening America. Known only to a select few, a top-secret government unit called The Bureau begins investigating and concealing a series of mysterious attacks by an otherworldly enemy. As special agent William Carter, call the shots, pull the trigger and lead your squad in a gripping third-person tactical shooter set within a high-stakes, covert war to defend humanity. The Bureau’s mission is clear – survive, adapt and overcome the enemy threat to protect the citizens from the truth.

If you're looking for a new game to play this weekend on your Mac, this is well worth consideration. We may not have the same wide gaming availability as our Windows using friends, but the Mac gaming scene continues to attract strong titles such as this one.

Before downloading, be sure to check out the system requirements, as you need a fair amount of beef and free disk space to play. But if you happen to pull the trigger, pop back and let me know how you're finding it.
