Facebook for iPhone bugs: Pictures showing up wrong

On the current version of Facebook for iPhone and iPad, whenever I tap on a picture someone uploaded, it either brings up a totally different picture, or when I flip over to comments, they don't match the comments that go with that specific picture. It's incredibly annoying if you want to comment on a picture and can't even get the correct one to pull up.

If you use Facebook for iPhone or iPad you're probably aware that it doesn't come without a bug or two. This one we've had several readers report and it's something I've experienced myself since the newer revamped version of Facebook was released.

The only workaround I've found is to actually go in and open the album the picture is in and click on the picture in the grid of photos. That typically tends to load the correct image and bypass the issue.

According to many of our readers, iCloud is down for them -- something Apple's iCloud system status page currently confirms.

Users may be unable to access iCloud services. Normal service will be restored ASAP.

Gives us some sympathy for a CrackBerry wielding If iCloud is down for you, let us know for how long, what's giving your grief, and when it comes back.

Unlocked iPhone 4S launches in U.S., international launch in Hong Kong, South Korea, and more

<img src="/sites/imore.com/files/styles/560w560h/public/images/stories/2011/10/iphone-4S-hero.jpg" alt="iPhone 4S review" title=iPhone 4S review" width="560" height="373" class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-79936" />

Apple's iPhone 4S is now available factory unlocked in the U.S. from Apple.com. Why it took until November when countries like Canada and the UK got unlocked models at launch, who knows? But if you've been waiting to go contract and SIM-lock free, now's your chance! (Reminder: Only the GSM/AT&T version is available unlocked, not the CDMA/Verizon/Sprint version).

Apple has also launched the iPhone 4S in 13 more countries, namely Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Malta, Montenegro, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Romania and South Korea.

Photogene² for iPhone hits the App Store, offers one in-app purchase to Photogene owners for free!

The new photo editing app, Photogene² for iPhone, is now available. The original Photogene was a major hit, and Omer Shoor now brings a completely redone interface and new features.

Photogene was always one of my favorite photo editing apps, so I downloaded Photogene² without giving it a second thought. I was pleasantly surprised to be immediately offered, as a valued customer of Photogene, an in-app purchase for free! The choices were Go Pro ($6), Collage Templates ($2), or More Frames ($1). I promptly selected Go Pro!

How's your battery life on iOS 5.0.1?

Apple has released iOS 5.0.1, purportedly to fix all the rigamarole surrounding battery life issues, but now that the TiPb Nation has had it for a day or so, we're curious -- did it get the job done? Is standby rock solid for you now, or still tumbling like it's in free fall? Can you turn your various location and notification settings back on and still, you know, have power left to use your iPhone as a phone? Can you raise Siri to speak without her telling you to go plug in somewhere?

And how's everything else working for you? Any bugs under 5.0.1 you didn't have before the update?

App Giveaway: Snapseed for iPhone and iPad

Snapseed is a premium photo editing app for iPhone and iPad. You can make adjustments ranging from the basics to more creative things like tilt-shift and special filters.

One of my favorite features of Snapseed is the ability to make adjustments to specific areas of the photo with Nik Software’s U Point technology. Snapseed makes pro-level editing easy for the average user.

Curious how to update to iOS 5.0.1 -- or any future iOS update -- over-the-air (OTA) directly on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch? Yes, Apple finally pulled the big switch in the cloud and you can go from one software version to the next, OTA and in-place faster than any iTunes restore past. We'll show you how, after the break!
