What's your next dream Mac? Find out!

What's your next dream Mac? [Poll]

What's your next dream Mac?

The Mac is doing great these days, not only growing faster than the PC market as a whole, but growing where the PC market pretty much isn't. The craziest thing about that is this — Apple hasn't even introduced new consumer-level Macs for a while. Last year's new Mac Pro aside, all we've gotten lately is spec bumps on the existing favorites. Part of that is due to Intel's continued delays of the next-generation Broadwell chipset, but whatever the reasons it feels like the already successful Mac line could get even more successful when new models start to hit the stage. So, here's the question — which next-generation Mac are you most looking forward to?

The fabled Retina MacBook Pro, whether it's a beefed up MacBook Air or a slimmed down Mac Pro, seems to be hit hardest by the Broadwell delays. We keep hearing it's coming but it still hasn't arrived. It would have higher density than the current 13-inch MacBook Air, but likely at the expense of its tremendous battery life. It would be lighter than the current 13-inch MacBook Pro, but likely at the expense of its sheer power. Could it be the best balance of both worlds?

This is what happens when you load a Mac Pro with explosive C4

I'm not really into blowing up expensive electronics with C4 or anything else for that matter but I'm perfectly fine when other people do it on the stuff they spent their own money on. Who am I to care what they do with it? It's their money. Plus, it provides me with some mindless entertainment when I end up on the weird part of YouTube late on a Friday night.

No, Mac Pro delivery dates aren't 'deteriorating'

Earlier today French Mac news site MacGeneration reported that international Apple store sites showed April as the estimated ship date of the new Mac Pro (that April time frame is now in the US Apple store). That's being reported elsewhere as a "deterioration" of the Mac Pro's delivery schedule. But before you panic, consider this: The backlog of Mac Pros really hasn't changed that much.

After nearly a year, Europe gets the Mac Pro again

It was March of 2012 when Apple stopped selling the old, huge Mac Pro in Europe, when the EU enacted a new set of electronic safety regulations and the poor old beast couldn't comply. Apple completely revamped the Mac Pro, of course, and the new unit went on sale on December 30th. Now it's beginning to ship to European customers, according to French language Mac site MacGenerations (via 9to5Mac).
