Check out the new iMore commenting system!

As you may have noticed we've launched an all-new, all-awesome commenting system. I should start by saying this is just the beginning and we'll be adding many features to the new system in the weeks and months to come, but for right now there are three highlight — new design that matches our new header, up/down-voting so you can support the really insightful, productive comments. (And, you know, bury other kind...), and report a comment so you can flag spam and anything truly inappropriate.

This is all part of a larger redesign that started with our new header last month and is going to keep rolling out this fall. In the meantime, try out the new comments and let me know what you think of them!

Sorry. Just got hired as a tester, and they actually told me to tell you that you were being let go...

Reddit isn't the only one that has up and downvotes :p

I only use the I more app, which I love. But what's still missing is that one can't open links from comments. If that gets fixed it will be perfect.

Oh and maybe make it so that if someone replies to your comment on the app, that it sends you a notification?

Agreed. That, and the much anticipated iPad optimized app (though the current site may negate the need).

Will the iPhone app get an update to allow up/down votes?

I also think it looks good. It's not all so white anymore and goes very well with the curren iMore design. Good job guys.

Only thing I wish would change is the color of the header on the main site. Looks a little off to me. Other than that, love the update!

Cool. But how do you stop the increase of questionable "slow news day" articles being pushed out?

Okay. Just wanted to give the down vote system a workout.

The font choice (Futura Light, perhaps?) makes my eyes strain. On iOS 7 I always bump the size up and switch to bold. Even if you just switched to the same face as the body text, that would be far more readable.

I forgot to mention — though updated to now include — that we also have "report a post" now. So you can help drop the hammer on spammers and other inappropriate content.

I'll be honest. I've been off-and-on creeping on this site for a few months. My main sites are Macrumors and 9to5mac, but with this new commenting system, as well as the only one of the three Applecentric sites to actually have an app...well, I'm finally creating an account on iMore!

Glad the website is getting lots of love. Looking forward to some of those features coming over to the app. Would love to see an edit feature in the phone app. If you only added that in the foreseeable future I would be ecstatic.

It's much better. Is this a long term change. Hope it doesn't vanish. I remember the disqus and other comment systems that came and went. This is so much cleaner looking.

I like it. It came to me whilst I was logged-in yesterday, took me for a short loop but I got the hang of the new look quickly.

It sure looks nice but personally I would have preferred you guys sticking with Disqus because I've gotten quite used to having all my comment threads in one system -- but I guess you've had your reasons to roll your own…!?

Very nice! The look seems to make it more legible and to me it seems like the individual comments have a better separation between each other.

One thing not directly related is when I go to read all of an article and / or comment, when I go back to the articles I end up at the top of the page instead of where I clicked to read the entire article.
