Chronic Dev Team share some news on iPad 2 jailbreak and iOS 4.3.x support

The Chronic Dev Team has decided to come out and issue a small update on its ongoing work on the iPad 2 jailbreak and iOS 4.3.x update. After the recent news that posixninja had recently said that the iPad 2 jailbreak would be “coming in weeks”, the Chronic Dev Team plan on holding him to that.

As I’m sure many people have heard, Josh (posixninja) has recently been quoted saying the iPad 2 jailbreak is coming in “weeks”, I know I have been very publicly abrasive and non-commital on giving any kind of timeframe or comment on this matter, but at the behest of Josh (in conjunction with his need for a swift kick to the ass for motivation) we’re ALL going to hold him to that!!! I’m not going to get into extensive detail about this, but what I will say one of the missing puzzle pieces may have reared its head and cast a glance in our direction… take from that what you will.

iOS 4.3.x support was on hold for greenpois0n so the Chronic Dev Team could concentrate fully on the iPad 2 jailbreak. Now however, the course has changed and we may see support for iOS 4.3.x soon.

It has now become possible to easily update and execute a workflow to enable RC6.2 (tentatively speaking… mmm #dirt) to be released “soon”…

So there you go, that is the update from The Chronic Dev Team, still no solid release date yet but things are making good progress! How many of our readers are desperate for an iPad 2 jailbreak? Let us know in the comments!

Can't wait. Given he accepted the challenge, I'd say its 50% GeoHot might drop the iPad 2 jailbreak before ninja. Need Vegas to post some odds.

@iPhone4idiots: there is no competition now. p0sixninja said in an interview that geohot declined the challenge.
i am watiting for an ipad2 jailbreak :( since now it is just for emails cause I just cant stand it...

I jailbroken my iPhone 3GS and ilastnled S1ri. There are some lags, but IMO it's great! S1ri is available for all devices running on iOS 5 at:s1ri,comTHUMBS UP for S1ri!VA:F [1.9.111134]please wait...VA:F [1.9.111134](from 0 votes)

I need my jailbreak already, I'm searching for updates on this matter on a daily basis. I hope it comes out before my birthday.

Definitely looking forward to an iPad 2 jailbreak. I love my iPad 2 but, to me, a non jailbroken idevice doesn't seem like an idevice anymore. That and the iPad 2 is just sooo snappy that I think it would be a joy jailbroken. Seems to me like all the hardware upgrades on idevices tend to mean more jailbreaking more than apple sanctioned stuff.

ME ME ME ME ME!!! I can't wait. I'm going crazy. I want freedom! And miwi on demand. Much less battery consumption using BT. it also seems that you can activate iPhone GPS on the iPad via bluetooth. That would save me money on buying that bluetooth gps receiver.

I want the jb for 1 reason: RetinaPad. I'm sick of low-res iPhone apps when the iPhone 4 and iPad 2 have nearly the same resolution.

If it's useless to you without the jailbreak, then it'll be worthless with it. The jailbreak adds tweaks, tools and functions that improve useability, but it is far from useless...

Im trying to be patient. Key word being 'trying' but yeah i really cant wait to get that lockinfo for my iPad 2

I have a jailbroken iphone 4 that performs wonders, and a recently acquired ipad2. I cant wait to have ir jailbroken but you guys are a bit overexaggerating....completely useless without jailbreak? Come on.

That's real good news I hope so I'm going crazy waiting for this jailbreak can't take it anymore hurry dev team
