Top 5 math apps for iPhone and iPad

SpaceTime is a wonderful CAS-level graphing calculator (think TI-89 on steroids). It's not cheap at $20 but it does go on sale periodically.

I really like the free m48. It emulates an HP48 and gives you a powerful programmable calculator. On the downside, it is a bit slow and the Reverse Polish notation takes some time to get used to.

Lately I think the you guys aren't doing your homework! How can you leave Soulver out or PCalc RPN the one the Rene always talk about and died for.

I am seeking recommendations for apps that will do inferential statistics (t-tests, anova, Chi Square, etc.) Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I spent a few days searching for a basic calculator. My needs were:
-A record tape that allowed me to view previous calculations
-A well designed interface
-Focus on arithmetic, so that I wouldn't have to wade through advanced formulas that I do not need
I wound up with Digits, and I've been very happy with it. Great design, and perfect for a guy whose formulas don't go past arithmetic too often.

I really like InchCalc for doing fractional measurements. I work with architects and interior designers, so this is really useful.

I use NeoCal Lite mainly because it offers an RPN mode and it's free.

How can you leave out GraphCalc? It is an algebraic input calculator that shows you the expression as you type it. Hit equals, and it evaluates it. The big deal is that it remembers the expression you typed and its result so you can scroll back and see what you did. You can use this to catch errors, and just tap and it grabs either the resulting value from an old expression or the complete expression itself. So if you typed in a big, bad formula and just want to change one or two numbers, just grab the old expression and edit it, then hit equals again. It's an amazing time saver.

For RPN, I like i41cx+. It's enough like the actual HP version to be very comfortable. It also works every time.

How about Coder Calc? Hard to beat the speed, appearance, universality, and feature set for the price.

I was searching for the good apps for making my calculation easy & here it is i got the apps.It is very nice, specially for the fraction methods & i liked the math ref apps too,which made calculation so easy.

Have you tried Math Chomp.. a pac-man style math learning game, it's great!

Elevated Math is quite comprehensive and is a good program for 5th graders and up.

I looked at Elevated Math. It goes way beyond the games and calculators. It actually teaches in a way that makes my kid "get it."

Check out Wiser Calc. It supports "natural display" input style like the CASIO fx-350ES calculator and it's easy to browse your calculation history.

A great iOS app for Intro Stats is “Statistics 1″.
