Apple Developing Low-Cost iPhone for Common Plebes

steve-iphone-demo.jpg

That zany analyst Shaw Wu (woo woo) from American Tech Research speculates that Apple is developing a low-cost mass market iPhone for the RAZR crowd, or so he says. Mr. Wu (can I call you Mr. Wu?) is basing his reasoning on Apple's iPod strategy which began with the introduction of pricey high end models, eventually branching off into an assortment of models in different price tiers.

In other news, researchers have discovered the sky is blue. Video at 11:00.

Wow if they really do this I will be impressed. I wrote a short blurb on why I am against the IPHONE hype here http://asktheadmin.blogspot.com/2007/06/hey-mr-admin-guy-should-i-get-ip... .
This would definately give Jobs some props for thinking ahead to control the whole market not just the TOP LEVEL$$$$$ a sub $100 Shuffle phone would be great (umm but i think i need a lcd :))

I totally think alot of hype is good and bad at the same time. While I think the majority of the hype will simmer down once people start having a minor negative experience here or there the word will get around that "its not so awesome". Remember that dang Razr???? All the hype around that phone and it was $400 brand new and people flocked to it....Now people are waiting in lines to junk their razrs for blackberrys. I still feel like apple is going to lay the wood to a lot of cell phone manufacturers in the long run and the demographic of 18-21 yr olds will always push for this fancy phone to stay cool...
