Daily Tip: How to manage multiple iPhone email signatures with Mail Enhancer [jailbreak]

Have multiple email accounts on your iPhone and wondering how to get custom signatures for all of them? There's little app in Cydia called Mail Enhancer that allows just that. You can have custom signatures for each individual email address as well as set different sounds for mail within the settings panel. Hit the jump for a quick walk-through!

[$2.99 - Cydia Link]

You won't see an icon for Mail Enhancer on your springboard. You'll have to go into your settings and then you'll find it. Once you're in it, simply toggle it to on. You'll now see a ton of options for customizing and tweaking mail settings further than stock iOS lets you. You can also choose to have Mail Enhancer auto-recognize HTML as well. This is nice if you want to send richer e-mail than just plain text.

If you'd like to use custom sounds for mail, you can use any iOS sound file on your device as well as import your own into iTunes ringtones. (If they don't show up after making them or downloading them, simply re-spring and relaunch Mail Enhancer).

Any signature changes you make via Mail Enhancer will automatically flow through to the default mail app. Simply toggle between your mail accounts and choose the e-mail you'd like to send mail from. The signature will automatically change to whatever you have pre-defined in Mail Enhancer.

This is personally a tweak well worth the $2.99 it goes for in Cydia. If you've tried it out or use it, let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Daily Tip: How to manage multiple iPhone email signatures with Mail Enhancer [jailbreak]

wait, this isn't built in? seems like a pretty easy thing no? having to jailbreak your phone just to get something this simple seems pretty ridiculous. am I the only one that thinks so?

No, you're certainly not the only one. This is something that iOS should have natively, or there should at least be an app available for it.

Unfortunately developers are not allowed to hook into the email app to this level. I have an App on the App Store (MailSig & MailSig Lite) that creates multiple email signatures but I just can't get the hooks into the email app to enable me to offer this functionality so it has to behave as a seperate App with switching.
Maybe iOS 5.0 will offer something.

Foiled again. I click on the site and see this post, and I'm like no way, I didn't know you could do that! Then I read and see "jailbreak." It seems like this site is pushing people to jailbreak. I mean, I'm fine with the jailbreak stuff, just wish it had its own section, rather than teasing us Team Pure folks. I have jailbroken in the past, twice as a matter of fact, and I hated it. I don't plan to do it. I love TiPb, but get tired of getting excited for things that are jailbreak only.
My suggestion is separate sections on the site. That way, those of us who don't want to read the jailbreak BS don't have to, and those who do don't have to sift through other stuff to view it. I would have loved that back when I was looking to jailbreak.
I know, just don't read it if you don't like it, blah blah blah. I just wish it had its own place is all.

Well u don't have to read the Jailbreak BS .. so stop complaining .. TIPB is not forcing you to read JB stuff.

Well it does say Jailbreak right in the title, as all the jailbreak tips do. So maybe just look at the title before you complain?

This looks amazing, and I've been waiting for something like this for as long as I've had a school email and a personal email.
Too bad I just graduated and won't use the school one anymore :D

This is the reason i JB my iPhone .. this tweak helps me to manage my personal email and work email on the same iPhone.

Agreed, this is one of the main reasons i jb to begin with. I needed to have multiple signatures for different business lines and personal use.
Am I missing something or does it say i can have different notifications per email account? I can't seem to find out how to do that in the program. That would be great as well.
App worked flawlessly for me. Worth the $.

This is a good product although the custom notifications have a problem where the sounds are very quiet. Worth buying.

I also needed something that aloud me to have different signatures for each of my email accounts. Like Mike I would like to have a different notification sound for each account, will this do that or is there something out there that will?

I have tried it on iPhone 4 4.3.3 and it doesn't add signature to email. Even worse, I just paid the new price of $4.99 from Cydia.

Just purchased it. It is no longer $2.99. It is now $4.99 and even that would be a good price if it worked. I am using iPhone 4 on 4.3.3 firmware and I could not get the app to add signatures to any email. I read the instructions, watched the video, configured the app under settings, and spent several frustrating hours researching. Also, I could not contact the developer from within Cydia because there is no contact information given. I did attempt to contact the developer through twitter though. I will just have to wait and see if I get a response.

Just found this post and am worried by the comments below - any updates for iPhone 4 4.3.3?

Very disappointed. "multiple email signatures" is misleading. It means only having a different signature for different email addresses. There is no ability to choose a different email signature for the one email address depending on the type of recipient (eg. Personal, business).
