Progress made on iPhone 4S, iPad 2 jailbreak
An untethered jailbreak for Apple A5 chipset powered iOS devices (namely iPhone 4S and iPad 2) has finally been achieved according to pod2g's most recent blog entry. He updated his blog yesterday stating he had hit a stumbling block but would update us today again. He's kept true to his word and let us know today that he's overcome the cache issue and achieved an untether.
OK, figured it out, the A5 cache is not a problem anymore. I sorted it out by doing the untether in a single thread and by flushing all the dcache then all the icache in a row at a strategical point of the process.
Saurik helped with launchd boot process so they're one step closer to a stable jailbreak. Props to pod2g and saurik for all their hard work. I can't wait to jailbreak my iPhone 4S as soon as a tool is updated and released. Anyone else jumping for joy at this news? I know I am! Check the source link for all the details.

Would it be a good idea for Tipb to start a donate $ to the jailbreakers fund? I know there are ways to donate to the actual individuals out there, but for the novices that don't know who these guys are (or who to donate too, or are intimidated by their names), I think it would be helpful if Tipb (whom we trust) would start some type of link or something.. Your thoughts?

i'd take a buggy tethered for the 4S since that means they found a bootrom exploit ;)

Pod2g already has an untethered jailbreak for all A4 devices, it just hasn't been released yet. It'll probably get released all at once

Can you just consolidate all this into one article? Posting separate articles on every little step of the untether is kind of unnerving. I'd really rather see a big headline when the untether is released.
