MobileMe: 2008 to 2012. Or, the deconstruction of failed sync

This is how MobileMe ends, swallowed in iCloud but not in darkness.
Our information and documents will live on -- the stored and pushed and streamed content of our iPhones and iPads and Macs, unto the next generation.
Apple has created the service we would have wished for MobileMe.
And now its servers spin down for the last time.

if it wasn't for MobileMe we wouldn't have the fantastic iCloud...
we wouldn't want to return to yesterday surely...
Too bad I paid $99 for the service and they can't even merge the new appleID it made me create with the existing one I had. Years later and I'm still ripped that they won't merge them.
<in Reagan to Gorbachev voice> Mr. Cook, merge these IDs!
I'm just waiting for the day we can make our @me.com email our Apple ID...
I preferred MobileMe to iCloud. I can't believe they killed iDisk.
