How to launch apps using Siri
Instead of scouring your iPhone or iPad Home screen to launch an app, or even worse yet, digging through folders, for that app you know you downloaded but just can't find, just ask Siri to launch it instead! As long as you know the name, there's no need to search for apps anymore.
How to launch App Store apps using Siri
- Press and hold the Home button on your iPhone or iPad to activate Siri.
- Say something like "Launch Facebook." or "Launch the iMore app."
- If your iPhone isn't already unlocked and you have a passcode, Siri will ask you to enter your password.
- Siri should automatically launch the app you asked for. If more than one app matches what you asked, Siri will ask you to confirm which one you meant.
That's it! While Siri may not be able to understand commands like "Check me in on Foursquare." just yet, launching apps is another convenience thing that comes in handy when your hands are tied up or when you just can't find something. What apps do you have that you wish Siri could hook into even further? Let me know in the comments!
