Facebook for iPhone update brings ability to share stories, tag your friends in posts, and more
Facebook for iPhone has received a pretty nice update that includes a Share link to re-post stories from your news feed as well as the ability to tag your friends in any post, comment or photo. Both of these features have been huge requests of Facebook for iPhone users for a very long time, so it's great to finally see Facebook deliver.
You may have noticed that in one of Facebook's past updates, the ability to sort your feed by Top Stories or Most Recent was removed. This update brings that feature back! To find it, head to the sidebar and tap the Setting icon next to the News Feed tab.
When sharing a story to your news feed you have the option to choose your audience from Public, Friends, Only Me, Friends except Acquaintances and any one of your Friend Lists. The last new feature added to Facebook for iPhone is the ability to add smileys, hearts, and other emoji in messages.
Surprisingly, there aren't any "bug fixes" claimed to be included in this update, but if you notice that any of them have disappeared (or that new ones have arrived), please let us know!
So what do you think about this update? Are you happy that Facebook is finally bringing in features they should've included ages ago? Or is it too little too late?

Yeah im not understanding why they have not found a fix for this yet. i have have facebook messenger installed just to hear my alerts go off :-(
Um, I'm not seeing where I can share a post from my news feed. What am I missing?

Not all posts can be shared. It depends on the privacy settings of the original poster. For stories that can be shared, there will be a Share link next to the Like and Comment links.

Sorting the news feed was there in 5.1. They just didn't mention it in the features. When I updated to 5.1 a couple weeks ago I went searching, found it, and posted the instructions to my Timeline for my friends to use.
Basically - they just made it harder to find in the 5.1 update, and now they are actually publicizing the change I guess. Unless perhaps they considered it too buggy in 5.1 and they have "fixed" it in 5.2 - because I will say that newsfeed sort (especially "Most Recent") has always been essentially broken...
Just a side note, I don't see the share button on iMore stories either.

Has anybody noticed that Facebook has added PHOTO FILTERS when uploading pictures?? Because they don't say it on the change log but is certainly there. Other feature they have "seemed" to forget is the new "PHOTO SYNC", allowing you to upload all your photos from your camera roll into a private folder in your Facebook account until you want to make them public. Oh, and the redesigned Camera UI when taking a picture directly from Facebook...
I have to say that many of the "shareable" news on my News Feed iPad app are not on the iPhone one...
Updated and I can't tag friends in statuses. I can do it on the iPad version, but no one's name comes up on the iPhone version.
Absolutely Still no sound notifications! I submit a bug report after each and every update to tell FB it's still broken and its not just iOS. How hard is this to fix? Like new features but basics seem to be on the back burner.
Ok, so sharing and tagging works for me but for the life of me, I can't find how to add smiley faces or emoticons to a post or status ?
To tag friends in posts, just add the @persons name before writing the post and a menu with friends name will popup. However the number of people you can tag seems to be limited to 10.
I can't tag my friends even if I'm using the @ sign. My friend's name didn't came out.
