Keep all your files in one place with Files App for iPhone and iPad
Files App is a new iPhone and iPad app by Sonico GmbH that lets you store all your files in one simple place. The interface features folders that are very similar to Apple's home screen, making Files App familiar and intuitive to use.
When you import documents into Files App, you can choose from Photos, Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, or a web URL. You can also choose to "Open In..." from the mail app or connect to your Mac or PC. To connect to your computer, you enter the IP address given by Files App then simply drag files into your browser window.
After you've imported your files, you can group them into folders similar to how you create app folders on your iPhone and iPad's home screen. Unlike Apple's folders, though, there is no limit to the number of items that can be in each one. If you're not a fan of the icon view, you can switch to a more traditional list view that is similar to Rene's concept for a built-in Files.app.
Files App will let you store any types of files, but not all file types can be opened. Files App supports PDF, MS Office, AVI, ZIP, and more more. You can also view photos and videos with the built in viewer and listen to music, complete with playlists, shuffle, artwork, and Airplay.

Ever since I got an iPhone and iPad last year, I've wanted a Finder/Windows Explorer type of program that would show all the documents/files on the device including note-taking app files.
So, for example, if I create files in an app such as Penultimate or Notability, can I file them in Files App? Can I do the reverse, then: open a Penultimate or Notability file from Files App? Will the Files App show me all the files I have in Evernote?
Add Evernote compatibility and this will be real HOT as an app!
That is also the first thing that came to my mind!
Disappointed that it is not a viewer, that wonderful interface is only for items downloaded onto the app.
can you explain what it does on top of dropbox. I love dropbox a lot and use it at home [mac and ipad] and on the go with iphone] also at work on my windows pc and am genuine in asking what this does on top of that?
Why not buy it and see what it does at 99 cents is surely worth a punt.
Anybody have any comparisons of this app to Phone Drive?
This is pretty interesting app. I haven't even used DropBox yet or really anything except iCloud. It would be very useful to pull up documents or any file on my computer from my mobile devices. I will have to check this one out. Hey its 99 cents people.
